Two student activists from the far-left group called “Pinjra Tod” have been arrested by the Delhi Police for their involvement in the Northeast Delhi riots of February, which claimed over 50 lives. The two students, namely, Natasha Narwal and Devangna Kalita are also said to be the founding members of the group. Currently studying at JNU, the two students graduated earlier from Delhi University, where the entire “Pinjra Tod” movement originally started. On Twitter, the organisation has started its rants against PM Modi and Amit Shah.
The two women-rights activists are said to have organized a sit-in protest by a mob of like-minded individuals, who, like foolish sheep were protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act, presumably without knowing how many pages the legislation contained.
On February 22, around 10 pm, the two activists gathered a mob of close to 50-60 odd people to block the Jaffrabad arterial road, by organizing a sit-in protest under the Jaffrabad metro station. This road blockade is what subsequently led to riots in the area.
“The assessment is that there may have been two reasons behind getting the anti-CAA women protesters to shift from the small Jafrabad dharna to an arterial road. One, an attempt to create an alternative protest site in the apprehension of the Supreme Court moving to end the dharna at Shaheen Bagh, and second, to create a negative image of India coinciding with the US President’s visit”, TOI quoted a Delhi police source as saying.
The Police is said to have seized the mobiles of the two overenthusiastic activists and is going through the contents of the same. They were to be produced before a Court in Delhi today.
Pinjra Tod was started as a movement in 2015, consisting of women students primarily of DU, and also other Delhi-based educational institutions, to fight against discriminatory hostel practices and curfew timings for girls. Ever since, it has become a proxy-movement of Islamists and Leftists, pandering shamelessly to anti-Hindu agendas.
In this line, it is important to mention that the Delhi Police comes under the control of the MHA, which we all know, is headed by none other than Amit Shah himself. It is commendable of Amit Shah to have pin-pointed and specifically initiated action against such a group, who, under the veil of social reform, shamelessly peddle anti-Hindu, and if I may dare, anti-India narratives. The identification of the Feminist-Islamist-Leftist nexus has been made only due to the strong will of Amit Shah as the Home Minister.
Past precedents hold testimony to the fact that feminists are usually allowed a long rope by authorities to peddle all nonsense which they may deem fit. Yet, notwithstanding the repercussions of his bold action against self-proclaimed feminists, Amit Shah has done what was so necessary at this point in time. For far too long, feminists have been given the benefit of doubt, as a result of which they managed to evade the law despite their nefarious motivations. The message is clear: Feminists are no longer holy cows, and will be made to face the music for their intellectual, and even literal militancy against the Indian state. The F-I-L (Feminist-Islamist-Leftist) nexus will be brought down to its knees by Amit Shah.
It has become quite a habit for feminists not exclusively in India, but around the world, to constantly peddle Islamist agendas. They do not shy away from acting their roles to the fullest as proxies of Communists. It is for this very reason that feminism as a movement has suffered immensely, since the ideological, political and religious motivations of a few have constantly trampled over the fundamental values which feminism as a movement was born to fight for.
Take the example of the Hijab. Seldom will you find any feminist speaking against the Hijab, which is quite literally the veil of patriarchy in Islam. Instead of standing up against such practices, feminists, over the years, have gone on to enforce Islamic patriarchy as though it is some glorious resistance of an attack upon a woman’s free will. Right on the other hand, these same individuals will not waste a single wakeful moment at deriding anything even minutely Hindu. Therefore, the loss of face was quite inevitable.
With Amit Shah making his intentions more than clear, it must be known to the F-I-L nexus, the law will catch up with you, irrespective of your gender. Poetic justice, if you ask me. Feminists who were for far too long given a free pass are finally about to be treated as equal citizens before the law.
