The Delhi Minority Commission Chief, Zafarul Islam Khan had on Tuesday explicitly exposed himself as a anti-Hindu bigot and a closet Islamist who bears true faith to Wahhabism and the likes of Zakir Naik. For his absolutely pathetic and provocative remarks against Hindus and India at large, not to mention his going overboard while praising the Arab countries, the Delhi Police has now slapped the fundamentalist with sedition charges.
A complaint was filed against Khan on April 30 two days after his post, the case has been registered against him under IPC sections 124 A (sedition) and 153 A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), Zee News reported.
A day after being slapped with charges of sedition, Zafarul apologized for what he thought were “insensitive and ill-timed” remarks. Of course, as the head of the Delhi Minority Commission, which falls under Arvind Kejriwal, the man might have formed the opinion that he is an untouchable and can say almost anything while occupying a post in a public office, as the head of a commission, no less. However, Delhi Police’s sedition charges are sure to wake the man from his slumber, as authorities prepare to make him face the music.
Islam’s insinuations regarding Hindutva and supposed Muslim persecution in India came in the backdrop of a few members of the Kuwait cabinet raising concerns over frivolous notions of alleged atrocities being committed against Muslims in India. Of course, Kuwait later distanced itself from such personal opinions of a few, and said that it did not support any interference in India’s internal matters.

India react. Says Kuwait Govt has "assured us that they are deeply committed to friendly relations with India" & "they also do not support any interference in the internal affairs of India". Adds, "misuse of social media is not given credence." https://t.co/zMsuKXDUnd pic.twitter.com/kjawHqCON0

“Thank you Kuwait for standing with the Indian Muslims! The Hindutva bigots calculated that given the huge economic stakes involved the Muslim and Arab world will not care about the persecution of Muslims in India,” Zafarul said in a Facebook post. Then, in a threat of sorts, the Islamist went on to add, “Indian Muslims have opted until now not to complain to the Arab and Muslim world about your hate campaigns and lynchings and riots. The day they are pushed to do that, bigots will face an avalanche.”
The man’s comments reek of vile Hinduphobia and more than evident Arab fascination. What can the Arab world do to a country of 1.3 billion people? As much as Zafarul might be of the opinion that the Arabs can somehow strong-arm India into submission of sorts, we must break it to people like him that such dreams are meant to be kept close to one’s hearts, and not blurted out on a Facebook post with a condescending language targeting 80% of a nation’s population.
Nonetheless, the man’s misplaced Arab nationalism and fascination is now going to cost him dearly. Whether Arvind Kejriwal grows the spine to sack him though, is still to be seen.
