Back in February, when India’s HCQ had not been politicized, China confirmed that HCQ is a wonder drug

HCQ, Hydroxychloroquine, china, india,

The countries around the world are using HCQ as the first line of defense against Coronavirus patients. The United States, the country which is suffering most from the Covid-19 pandemic, is divided to the usefulness of the drug the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons found there are “about 90 percent chances of HCQ helping Covid-19 patients” but few others like the study by US veterans, and another by researchers from Harvard Medical School found it ineffective.

US drug regulator went ahead with authorizing the anti-Ebola drug remdesivir, whose effectiveness was questioned in many peer-reviewed journals. But, it seems, US FDA cares more about domestic big pharmaceutical companies than the life patients and questioned the effectiveness of HCQ.

However, research from China which was conducted in very early days of Covid-19 spread, when neither the HCQ drug nor the pandemic was politicized, shows that HCQ brought down the mortality rate among the patients.

The study was conducted at Tongji Hospital in Wuhan, the initial epicenter of the pandemic, between February 1 and April 8 on 568 Covid -19 patients and was funded by China’s Ministry of Science and Technology, Nature Science Foundation and Ma Yun Foundation.

As per the study, the mortality rate among the group given HCQ was 18.8 percent compared to 43.5 percent among those who were not given the drug. “Hydroxychloroquine treatment is significantly associated with a decreased mortality in critically-ill Covid-19 patients,” wrote the researchers.

The study demonstrates that “hydroxychloroquine application is associated with a decreased risk of death in critically-ill Covid-19 patients without obvious toxicity.”

“Hydroxychloroquine should be considered a primary option to apply to treat critically-ill Covid-19 patients, which could save lives during the current Covid-19 pandemic” recommended the study.

Most of the countries around the world like Brazil, Israel, Australia, and Canada use HCQ as the first line of therapeutic defense against Covid-19. In Turkey Istanbul University President Nuri Aydin said HCQ is “one of the main steps” in Covid-19 treatment. “…the second is isolation.”

India, too, is primarily dependent on HCQ for treatment of Covid-19 patients and a high recovery rate and low mortality rate in the country shows that, so far, HCQ is the most effective drug against disease.

The US big pharma and corporate media houses are actively supporting remdesivir while running a concerted campaign against HCQ.

Bloomberg, the ring leader of big financial media houses, published a story titled “Two-Thirds of Severe Covid-19 Cases Improved on Gilead Drug” on April 11 to promote the anti-Covid-19 drug developed by Gilead Sciences. The link to the story is given here.

On April 10, the same Bloomberg published a story titled, “Malaria Drug Hype Lures Macron as Hope Gets Ahead of Science” mimicking the faith of French President in the drug that is primarily produced in India.

On this, Nassim Nicholas Taleb, the famous philosopher and economist who was among the first few intellectuals to point out towards the dangers of not taking tough steps towards containment of this pandemic, tweeted, “Chloroquine: Does Big Pharma owns the media? + Studies are said to be “not rigorous” when it comes to Chloroquine in spite of robust statistical signal + Studies w/less rigor and significance are promoted when it comes to drugs by Gilead Note: Chl was OTC, costs 1 Euro a pack,” with image of both Bloomberg stories in contrast.

There were three reasons behind global ‘liberal’ media to push against the anti-malarial drug. Firstly, it is pushed by Trump and liberal media’s hatred towards the person overshadows their logical reasoning to objectively analyze the pros and cons of the drug, and secondly, more than 70 percent of the global supply of HCQ coming from India. And thirdly, ‘interest’ of big pharmaceutical companies from the United States and Europe.

Now that Chinese research from early February, when neither the drug nor the pandemic was politicized, has shown that HCQ is so far the most effective medicine against Coronavirus disease, the global corporate media should stop its propaganda against HCQ and shun campaign for Gilead’s remdesivir.

The US FDA, which has become a pawn in the hands of big pharmaceutical and left-liberal establishment, should stop discriminatory attitudes towards Indian-made HCQ.
