As the toll of Coronavirus disease rise, the world is getting angry with China. The countries around the world are asking for repatriation from the Communist country, just like in wartimes.

Major war analogies are being used as the damage caused by Chinese virus to the countries like United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, France, and Germany is more than that of World War I and World War II. So far, more than 12 lakh people have been infected with the virus and around 70,000 have died.

Surgeon General of the United States, Jerome Adams, in an interview with Fox News, said, “This is going to be our Pearl Harbor moment, our 9/11 moment, only it’s not going to be localized, it’s going to be happening all over the country and I want America to understand that.”

The Pearl Harbor analogy could be a major concern for China, as it clearly indicates that the Communist country has directly attacked to US, just like Japan did in December, 1941, during World War II. Japan, which was with axis powers, attacked US naval base in Pearl Harbor in a pre-emptive strike, forcing US, which was till then partially neutral, to join allies.

In both the examples given by Jerome Adams- Pearl Harbor and 9/11- US launched an all-out attack on the enemy country: joined the allies during World War II after Pearl Harbour attack in 1941 and launched a ‘War on Terror’ after 9/11. This indicates that the US will hold China responsible for Coronavirus disease.

US has got many allies in this war as most of the countries in Western Europe, including its all-weather ally, United Kingdom, are furious over China. As per the research carried out in the United Kingdom, the global economy has been hit by a loss of 3.2 trillion pounds- more than the GDP of India for FY 19- and China should be held responsible for this.

15 senior members of Britain ruling Conservative Party wrote to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who himself has been found COVID-19 positive, to ‘rethink’ relations with Beijing and hold the Communist government responsible for this. They have asked the British government to demand compensation of 351 billion pounds- the loss to the British economy due to the virus.

The study, titled ‘Coronavirus Compensation: Assessing China’s potential culpability and avenues of legal response’ and concludes: “The CCP (Chinese Communist Party) sought to conceal bad news at the top, and to conceal bad news from the outside world.”

“Now China has responded by deploying an advanced and sophisticated disinformation campaign to convince the world that it is not to blame for the crisis, and that instead the world should be grateful for all that China is doing. ‘The truth is that China is responsible for COVID-19 – and if legal claims were brought against Beijing they could amount to trillions of pounds.”

“Britain should pursue the Chinese government through international courts for £351 billion in coronavirus compensation, a major study into the crisis has concluded,” tweeted Harry Cole, Deputy Political Editor of Daily Mail.

Britain is very furious over China’s attempted coverup in the initial weeks of the outbreak. Above that, the British Prime Minister, whose partner is pregnant, has been hospitalised as he is suffering from the Coronavirus disease and his symptoms have been described as ‘persistent’ even after ten days. The country has come to a standstill and there seems to be no sign of hope. Same goes with other countries in Western Europe and United States, where there is complete chaos and public morale is broken due to pandemic.

The countries around the world hold China and WHO responsible for the outbreak of a full-blown pandemic, and rightly so. The virus reached throughout the world due to irresponsible decisions of Chinese government to suppress information about its spread and nature, and WHO was complicit in this.

Now China has partially overcome the disease and reopened its factories, to exports PPEs to the world. The country is crisis profiteering from the disease it created and ‘gifted’ to the world. The global superpowers like the United States, NATO alliance should hold China responsible and extract repatriations, just like it goes in war times.
