‘The Power Grid will crash,’ Resentful Congress leaders become electrical engineers as PM Modi calls for 9PM9Minutes light show

On the tenth day of lockdown, PM Modi had addressed the nation in a short video message and requested the citizens to turn off their lights for 9 minutes at 9 PM on April 5 and light a candle or diya or even use a flashlight on one’s mobile to mark our fight against the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Now, as the entire nation is preparing to come together for a spectacular show of unity similar to the one during the “Janta Curfew” last month, the Congress seems to be fuming with pessimism, jealous and political vindictiveness- all negative feelings coming together to take hold of the grand old party.

Out of their utter derangement, the Congress has left the fraternity of Electrical Engineers befuddled. Shashi Tharoor, the “celebrated intellectual” of the Congress party was amongst the first to red-flag the issue of a power grid failure if the entire nation turns off its tube lights, bulbs and other light-emitting electrical devices all at one go.

How could Prime Minister Modi forget this? After all, it is scientifically proven that tube lights and fluorescent/ LED bulbs consume far more electricity than fans, air conditioners, refrigerators, television sets and even the remote-controlled Heads of Governments (this has no reference, incidental or otherwise, with the UPA era’s power-sharing arrangement).

Going a step further is the Gandhi scion, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Replacing her brother this time, she tweeted, “While the country is expressing solidarity in its fight against the Coronavirus, it is expected that the Centre will take care of the power grids and the engineers’ concerns, so that there is no obstruction in the power supply during the crisis and in times of need.”

While the top Congress leadership has turned into engineering experts in order to play spoilsport in the 9 PM light show that the entire nation is looking forward to, they can offer no plausible explanation as to why there are no fluctuations or power grid failures every day after the entire nation turns on its tube lights and LED bulbs when it gets dark.

Maybe power grids have adjusted to such daily shocks and an everyday surge in power demand, but would succumb when they are suddenly put under strain today, just like the nation has adjusted to Rahul Gandhi’s goof-ups and no longer gets surprised with his blunders.

Meanwhile, the Congress-ruled states seem to be certain in their minds that since the Prime Minister has requested citizens to turn off their lights, there has to be a power outage that follows. Therefore, Maharashtra Power Minister and senior Congress leader Nitin Raut has already issued a warning.

He said, “At present, Maharashtra’s power demand has come down to 13000 MW from 23000 MW. The industrial load is zero. Only emergency and domestic demand is being served. In case of a sudden drop in demand, as will happen if people switch off the lights at a single moment, power stations may go on a high frequency. It could result in feeder trippings in the grid.”

But other Congress leaders have extended even more dangerous threats. Salman Nizami, for example, who probably cannot think above burning human settlements, and tweeted, “Diya Jalana basti nahi! (burn diyas, not settlements)”, in a shameful display of communal bigotry and incendiarism.

Buying Congress’ outlandish power grid failure theory, the most discredited of Indian journalists Rohini Singh also tweeted, “Who is recommending these ideas to the PM without any regard for the massive consequences?”

She was called out for propagating such absurd theories by none other than Arun Bothra, the CEO of Central Electricity Supply Utility, Odisha who said, “This power fluctuation is easily manageable. Nothing to worry.” But then we were dealing with the Congress ecosystem, and when the party leaders come up with such outlandish theories, their followers cannot be expected to fare any better.

Some brilliant minds supporting the Congress-led ‘power grid theory’ were worried about ventilators getting switched off while the Prime Minister had called for lights to be switched off. One can only hope that the Congress ecosystem has some dangerous plans in store for us.

It is absurd that the left-liberal cabal which cheerfully slips into darkness whenever an Earth Hour is announced without worrying about power grid failures, thinks nine minutes of lights getting turned off will permanently impair India’s power generation system.

Today, they are opposing PM Modi’s request to burn candles and diyas for nine minutes but on March 28, they will gleefully turn off their lights at 8: 30 PM.

They seem to think that the power grid fails only when a Nationalist Hindu Prime Minister requests the citizens to turn off their lights in order to show unity, but the power grids do not fail around the world when lights are turned off for the sake of environmental vigilantism.

While the nation prepares to glow together at 9 PM, the Congress is already burning and its fumes giving out outrageous ‘power gird failure’ theories.
