China plans to use Pakistani citizens for Coronavirus vaccine trial. Funny part, Pakistanis are loving it

Pakistan China vaccine trial

Our neighbouring country is a wonderful, vivacious country with a handsome Prime Minister and despite all the idiosyncrasies the failed state tries to pull on India, its ultimate demise would not be through any foreign power like China slowly encroaching its sovereignty but through its own government and the hara-kiri choices it makes.

The fact that Imran is not the sharpest tool in the shed is understandable but the Pakistani media has just unlocked another level of insanity.

Recently, reports emerged that a major Chinese pharmaceutical company invited the National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad, to collaborate in conducting clinical trials of its recently developed inactivated vaccine for COVID-19 in Pakistan. In a memorandum sent to the NIH, the Chinese Sinopharm International Corp. is looking to conduct ‘clinical trials’ on ‘recruited participants’—in what it referred to as the brotherly country of Pakistan.

Even though the letter clearly states that the vaccine has not been developed yet and that these are just clinical trials, some frivolous Pakistani media channels assumed that the benevolent Chinese masters had developed a magic COVID-19 vaccine and that Pakistan was going to be one of the first beneficiaries.

A video has gone viral on social media where a Pakistani anchor is seen visibly elated about the developments—oblivious to the fact what clinical trials entail for the Pakistanis who will be used as ‘guinea pigs’ for the Chinese to experiment on.

Fortunately, some sane Pakistani fellows called out the reporter for her misleading news and tweeted that there is a massive difference between a fully developed vaccine and a clinical trial.

It would not come as surprise if Islamabad gives the nod to Beijing to go ahead and start conducting the clinical trials—given the tight economic grip (Read: CPEC) the dragon has on Pakistan. It will be incredibly difficult for Pakistan to muster up the courage to say no.

China choosing Pakistan is a natural choice. The communist regime harbors strong resentment and hatred towards Islam in general and therefore it would not be ‘morally wrong’ for Xi Jinping to experiment on Pakistanis given the way it treats the Uighur Muslims in its backyard.

The treatment of the minority Uighur Muslims of China is well-documented and yet Pakistan has been completely mum on the issue. China treats Islam like a mental illness that needs to be cured and inflicts unspeakable acts of torture on the Muslims in the country.

Consequently, the unnecessary chest-thumping and misleading news by the Pakistani media needs to be stopped. They need to evaluate the facts and try to stop its government from taking such suicidal steps (no pun).

The clinical trial is in its nascent stages with no guarantee for the development of the vaccine. Worst case scenario, many Pakistani citizens’ lives could be on the line if the experiment goes ahead as planned.

The country has not enforced any major behavioral changes in the wake of the pandemic that has infected over 10,000 as the mosques will remain open in Ramzan and the public gatherings will go ahead as planned.

Trying to cut corners in the hope of receiving a vaccine from China could prove fatal for the Islamic country.
