We want Jinnah not Savarkar: JNU goons vandalize Savarkar nameplate, rename it as Jinnah Marg

As per a tweet by Abhinav Prakash, Assistant Professor at Delhi University, the Left wing vandals have vandalized the JNU main road nameplate, which was named as Veer Savarkar Marg by the administration, a few days ago. The vandals have stuck a poster on the name plate which reads Mohammed Ali Jinnah Marg on the name plate.

“Left-wing vandals in JNU ‘rename’ Savarkar marg as Jinnah marg. Anyone who says ‘tukde-tukde’ gang is figment of one’s imagination is a liar. JNU left openly calls for balkanisation of India and admires likes of Jinnah for doing it,” tweeted Prakash, who has been a student of the university in the past.

Previously the administration decided to name the JNU entrance road as Veer Savarkar Marg, and the JNUSU, dominated by Left alliance, was obviously not happy with that. The left wing students termed the naming the road after Hindutva icon as “shame on the legacy of JNU.”

In a Whatsapp message, JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh said, “Shame on the legacy of JNU that this man”s name has been put in this university.”

“Never did the university had space for Savarkar and his stooges and never will it have!” she added, followed by hashtag #RejectHindutva.

Savarkar, a political figure and freedom fighter derided by left for coining and propagating the theory of Hindutva, has created much controversy, especially in universities where leftist parties are strong, like JNU and DU.

Last year, when a bust of Savarkar was installed at Delhi University campus along with Subhash Chandra Bose and Bhagat Singh, the NSUI- the student wing of Congress- blackened it. The bust led to much controversy in the university and the administration decided to remove it, as it was installed without the permission of authorities.

This is not the first time JNU students have vandalized to the honour of an icon who does not belong to leftist camp. Previously, the soon to be inaugurated statue of Vivekananda was vandalised by a group of students.

“Painful beyond measure. The soon to be inaugurated statue of Swami Vivekananda vandalised in JNU. Vile.Just vile.Where will this end?” tweeted Professor Anand Ranganathn of JNU at that time.

Unlawful activities have become an everyday occurrence in JNU. From anti-national slogans to illegal trafficking banned drugs, holding the Vice-Chancellor and professor hostage for hours, JNU has been in news for all the wrong reasons for years.

JNU is a ‘promised land’ to adherents of Communism. The extreme freedom of expression, ideas, clothing for which space around the world is shrinking can find space in the Promised Land.

The slogans like- Lal Salaam, We Shall Fight, We Shall Win, Brahmanvad Ho Barbaad, Bharat Tere Tukde Hoge Inshallah Inshallah, Kashmir ki Azaadi Se Bharat ki Barbaadi Tak Jang Rahegi Jang Rahegi could be heard only inside the boundary walls of JNU.

Employing a central government’s paramilitary force is necessary to maintain law and order situation, in which the students who want to focus on studies and research could do the same.
