‘Voting for Sadhvi Pragya is anti-national,’ star campaigner for Kanhaiya, Swara Bhasker cries before the janta of Madhya Pradesh

Sadhvi Pragya, Swara bhasker

After embarrassing herself like never before at the hands of journalist Rubika Liyaquat, Swara Bhasker seems determined to make a comeback into the world of insanity. Not that she had stopped being insane, it was just that post her Rubika-episode, nobody reported Swara’s insanity. In Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior, Swara has once again made an absolute fool out of herself.

Sending a terror accused to Parliament by making her an MP is not anti-national, but those asking questions are labelled as traitors,” the activist said. She was speaking at a seminar organised by the Madhya Pradesh government’s Women and Child Welfare Department. “This country has elected in a democratic manner a terror accused to Parliament, but when I asked questions to the ruling dispensation, I am labelled as an anti-national. Why so?“, she innocently asked. She also added that while she had her right to vote and ‘like a good citizen’, she pays taxes, however, upon asking questions, she has cases of treason registered against her.

A layman would feel immensely sorry for the part-time actor and full-time activist. But we’ve been covering Swara Bhasker for too long now to fall for her puppy face, which is excruciating in itself. What Swara Bhasker implied in Gwalior was that the voters who facilitated BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur’s victory from Bhopal constituency in 2019, were in fact anti-nationals. She was condescending in her tone towards the voters of Bhopal. And while her grudge against the voters of Bhopal is just the surface, her disgust for each and every BJP supporter in the country is what can be sensed from her statement.

Considering her track record, it is indeed rich of Swara Bhasker to be passing judgements on the voters of this country for the electoral choices they make. And while the figure 303 must be haunting Swara and her kind, they really need to start accepting it as a reality and move on.

Just so that you all know, Swara Bhasker is the same activist who campaigned for the likes of Kanhaiya Kumar and Atishi Marlena in the run-up to the 2019 General Elections. While the former is an ardent believer of the secession of various parts of India, the latter is a seasonal name-changer. Both these candidates lost – colossally so, from the seats they were contesting.

Sadhvi Pragya has been the primary target of the Congress durbaris to pin the blame of a dark fantasy on, called ‘Hindu Terror’. Swara Bhasker is nothing but a mere puppet propagating the same nonsense.

Sadhvi Pragya has been derided for the longest period of time, and has been mocked as a lesser mortal on grounds of frivolous charges which biased officers, and an equally Hindu-hating establishment slapped on her. Hers has been a struggle which many would not be able to survive, yet today she is a member of Parliament from Bhopal after defeating Congress’ Digvijay Singh, which is testimony enough that karma is indeed brutal.

While Sadhvi Pragya was tortured in prison, the authorities could not find concrete grounds to convict her of the lavish charges put on her. As a result, after the formation of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), it took charge of the case in April, 2011, and filed a charge sheet in 2016. This charge sheet said that there was no evidence to link Sadhvi Pragya to the case and, therefore, she should be discharged. Further, MCOCA charges against her were subsequently dropped, although an NIA Special Court in 2017 held that she would continue facing charges under UAPA. The Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, as the name suggests, is a pre-emptive restraining law which prevents individuals from acting against the integrity and sovereignty of India.

Notably though, in February, the Delhi High Court had issued a notice to the central government to file an FIR against Swara Bhasker for inciting violence in the national capital. So while Swara is parading around as an innocent activist, she might want to consider evaluating her tweets and speeches in the past few months, for they were not mere questions to the establishment, but all-out hateful comments capable of inciting disharmony in society.

In her mind, however, Swara Bhasker is the judge, jury and executioner, who has convicted Sadhvi Pragya of crimes she think were committed by her. And while the ever-unemployed actor-cum-activist has a right to her opinion and expression, the joke is still on her, for the absolute clown that she is.
