Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday addressed the whole nation amidst the wake of the menace of Wuhan Virus. In a measured and emotional speech, PM Modi touched all the right chords whilst maintaining the semblance of lucidity. While PM Modi did not hold back in conveying that situation was a serious one and that everyone needs to pitch in as individuals, simultaneously he also voiced that there is no need to panic. The 30-minute national broadcast, saw PM Modi requesting people to stay at home from 7 am to 9 pm on the coming Sunday as part of ‘Junta Curfew’. He underscored the dangers of the Wuhan virus, saying the world has never seen a crisis as grave as this.

On hearing his composed speech, the liberal, seculars and woke-Bollywood celebrities of the country had a surprisingly positive response to it. PM Modi’s detractors who usually look for an opportunity to pounce and denounce every single decision of his welcomed the Janta Curfew.
The netizens to their bemusement were seen repeatedly checking the twitter handle of Shehla Rashid. The same Shehla who has spewed her anti-India and anti-Modi rhetoric on a number of occasions that’s beyond any counting. Nevertheless, she was seen applauding PM Modi’s speech. Probably because the JNU-freelance activist understood the gravity of the situation.
Appreciate PM @narendramodi's clear message to people to stay indoors, encouraging work from home. Also endorse his appeal to all employers to give paid leave to staff. He's asked people to not panic-buy & hoard. Appeal to everyone to be united and follow the govt's instructions.

Twinkle Khanna, the columnist and Bollywood actress who generally seems to be on the opposite end of spectrum whenever PM Modi says something, supported the decision this time around. The Pandemic has surely given a new insight to Mrs. Funnybones.
Have written against many govt moves but this was a speech by the PM that https://t.co/hEYggGXtzE staves of panic without undermining the gravity of the situation.Applauding those providing essential services will also make us feel more united during this pandemic. #jantacurfew https://t.co/I5maq4kDBk

Rajdeep Sardesai, Congress spokesperson, and a pretty vocal journalist supported PM Modi’s call for restraint and resolve during the testing times and asked the government to act now to tackle the health crisis.
Restraint and resolve, compassion and collective spirit: PM @narendramodi asks all Indians to join the fight against corona virus. Likens it to a bigger challenge than world wars.. don't hoard, don't panic, fight unitedly. All fine words.. now for action!

The ex-Aam Aadmi Party leader who was shown the doors by Arvind Kejriwal and since has been looking for a footing in the political circuit came out in support of PM Modi’s idea. The self-proclaimed psephologist declared that every Indian must support the government’s efforts to fight the Chinese virus.
At this moment every Indian must support the Government's efforts.
The PM's call for Janata Curfew should be respected. Economic Task Force is a good idea. Hope it addresses the problems of unorganised workers and farmers first. https://t.co/X6RLYVsJTp— Yogendra Yadav (@_YogendraYadav) March 19, 2020
Shabana Azmi, who has locked horns with the establishment on several instances was also seen on the other side of the fence, for a change.
@narendramodi its a very good speech on Corona Virus and his appeal for #JantaCurfew on Sunday 22nd March stay home from 7am is something all Indians should do. I applaud him for inspiring us to stand at 5 pm on Sun 22nd March to honour people who believe in service about self.

Stand-up comedian (at least that’s what we have heard) Atul Khatri whose bread and butter is solely earned because of Modiji was also in praise of the leader.

For all his fine oratory, this was by far the calmest, most measured & important speech Narendra Modi has delivered in his public life. This is just that juncture when India needs a mass leader who could speak sensitively, soberly, and inspirationally.

cBut as usual, some of the deranged liberal-gang had to scratch their itch and therefore they started to mock the initiative of PM Modi to applaud all the medical health professionals who are the first line of defense. As a token of gratitude PM Modi asked citizens to come together at 5 PM on Junta curfew for 5 minutes to their doors, windows or balconies to either clap or beat the utensils. The move is aimed to show solidarity but few wanted to be supremely petty and cynical compulsive contrarians, as their tweets showed.
Italy's balcony timepass is India's national disaster policy.

A global pandemic will be fought in India through clapping and banging plates.

The woke of twitter needs to understand that in their race to gain some clout by mocking the initiative they are mocking the health professionals who are keeping their own lives on the line to protect individuals like them.
The Junta curfew and beating the utensils is a masterstroke that would reach the lowest strata of the society. It would make them understand the complexity of the situation. Something words like ‘Social-Distancing’ and ‘Quarantine’ might not be able to do. After all, as PM Modi said we all are in this together.

The next 15 days are important in stopping the spread of the disease. With the second wave of Wuhan Virus already in the country, the total number of cases has reached 195—as of Friday. The time is ticking. The third wave of the virus is upon us (in layman terms ‘third wave’ refers to the community outbreak of the communicable disease of COVID-19). To avoid such a cataclysmic event, social distancing is the best measure for those non-infected whereas the infected should report to the hospitals and quarantine themselves immediately. In such a situation, PM Modi has acted as the ‘uniter-in-chief’ for all the Indian people to fight this coronavirus onslaught together.
