Ever since anti-CAA agitation took off in the month of December, the liberal brigade supporting this humongous, misinformation campaign has given several different epithets to it- ‘revolution’, spontaneous movement, student-led movement, so on and so forth.
However, the sheer ignorance of the anti-CAA protesters, a clear angle of radical Islamism and involvement of nefarious elements has time and again brought the murkiness of the insidious agitation to surface every now and then.
In a latest shocker coming from Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh, a woman has lodged a police complaint wherein she has accused her husband of compelling her to join the anti-CAA protests.
In a Times Now video, the concerned woman can be seen referring to her husband and saying, “Main jhoot nahi bol rahi, inhone ek hafte meri jaan khayi…zabardasti mujhe dharne pe bheja (I am not lying, he harassed me for the entire week…I was sent to the prorests forcefully).”

The police are on a door-to-door campaign requesting people to desist from going to such agitations. It was during this police campaign that it was discovered how the woman was being forced to attend the anti-CAA protests in the Shajamal area of the Aligarh district.

This development comes amidst the clearance of the Jiwangarh bypass road where women were holding anti-CAA protests for the past six days. The road was cleared owing to intervention by senior police officials showing how these women might actually have been protesting unwillingly under pressure from their households and community leaders.
Such incidents bring up the issue of the level of ignorance and indoctrination from the radical community leaders behind the anti-CAA agitation. In Shaheen Bagh, where Islamists have reduced women to show of strength, there were videos of kids- girls of an impressionable age, chanting vulgar slogans that reek of Islamist supremacy. This shows the level of indoctrination that goes behind such protests.

On the issue of brainwashing of child protesters at Shaheen Bagh, the child rights watchdog NCPCR had noted, “These children are shouting that their elders have told them that Prime Minister [Narendra Modi] and Home Minister [Amit Shah]…will ask them to produce documents of citizenship, and if they fail to produce [them], they will be sent to detention centres, where they will not be allowed even food and clothing.”
When an infant died at Shaheen Bagh, the community leaders hailed it as a qurbaani, what they didn’t mention however was that the baby girl could neither walk, talk or think coherently, she wasn’t accompanying the mother there out of choice. The sacrifice wasn’t her own either. If there was any sacrifice involved, let us be very clear that the little girl was SACRIFICED.
The amount of misinformation and indoctrination that has gone behind the anti-CAA protests is simply flummoxing. The protests as has been clear since December are neither people’s protests nor were they spontaneous. Ordinary people don’t even understand what CAA is and how it affects them.
Leave alone ordinary people, even Farhan Akhtar couldn’t explain what was possibly the issue with the legislation and even former Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram fails to understand/doesn’t want to understand it.

The protests have been illegitimately squeezed out by radical community leaders in collaboration with the anti-CAA lobby. The worst victims are helpless women and innocent infants.
