In an attempt to malign the image of the nation and the army, filmmaker and activist Tapan Bose compared Indian Army to Pakistani Army justifying that both the armies kill their own people. The crowd cheered loudly as he compared and even lauded the people of Pakistan at an anti-CAA rally at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Wednesday.

In a shameless speech, Bose stated, “Pakistan is not an enemy country, our armies are alike too, their army kills their people and our army kills our people, there is no difference between them.”

He also claimed, “The people of Pakistan are wonderful; they talk to you with so much love and always stress about reconciliation with India.” Bose’s speech has exposed that the larger objective of the anti-CAA protest was to malign India. It affirms that these protests are largely anti-India rather than anti-CAA.

Bose’s antics received a lot of backlash on social media as defence analyst, Major Gaurav Arya (Retd) tweeted, “This is the truth-  Pak Army staged 4 coups, Killed 3 Prime Ministers, Violated Pak constitution 4 times, It continues to kill in… – Balochistan – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – Sindh – PoK – Gilgit Baltistan – Kashmir Tapan Bose knows nothing about Pakistan Army or Indian Army.”

The anti-India rhetoric of these protests is getting exposed day-by-day. It is quite clear from the recent incidents that the protests have turned from anti-CAA to anti-India. The mastermind of the Shaheen Bagh protest, Sharjeel Imam had also confirmed this as he said that with the help of only 5 lakh people, his gang can easily engineer the break-up of India by amputating Northeast India from the rest of the country. “Cutting off Assam is our responsibility. Let Assam and India be separated, only then they will listen to us.” He suggested blocking railroads so that supplies from India and most importantly the Army cannot pass. Delhi Police’s revelation regarding the plans of Sharjeel Imam also confirms that anti-CAA protest have a larger goal to uproot the Indian state.

The real agenda of the protests have been exposed with such speeches, although, these protests are still getting immense support from the liberals. Liberals and their political masters are perennially providing firm support to such elements. They continue to justify these protests disguising them as democratic protest to save the ‘idea of India’. Recent reports of PFI’s links in the funding of anti-CAA protests also affirm it as a struggle against the Indian state.
