How low can people fall? Humans are coping with this question, failing to answer it at any given instant, as our ability to steep lower with every passing second is second to no other trait. India is currently facing violent protests, mainly by anti-Modi forces for the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act. While the Northeast, specifically Assam has some genuine reasons to resist this legislation, the protests in other states, frankly, are nothing more than an indicator of the collective foolishness and ignorance prevailing among a section of the people who irrespective of this Act, have always hated PM Modi, BJP, and may I dare say, Hindus in general.
Protests across the nation galvanized after the violent clashes which erupted in Delhi’s Jamia Milia Islamia University were faced by a severe crackdown by the Delhi police. Of course, according to protesters, violence perpetrated by them is justified, while the Police acting severely is an outright infringement of their constitutional rights. In this line, protesters gathered outside Jamia Milia yesterday.
To top it all, this time, they had their kids accompanying them. Kids of the age who cannot pronounce the alphabets were also seen in the protests, courtesy, their coward parents.
There have been numerous instances over the past few days, where it has been seen that kids are being used as political weapons by subhuman parents. Newslaundry yesterday posted a few pictures on Instagram of the protestors at Jamia Milia along with their parents. The said post has numerous comments lambasting such a show of absurd theatre in the name of protests. Many expected the parents and relatives of these kids to develop a conscience, a proposition I see no hope in.

Why should kids be made a part of a show of collective political illiteracy on the part of the adults? Because, going by numerous reports, and observing the anti-CAA crowd, it can be said with a sense of confidence that none of these protestors know how many pages the Act contains, leave alone the content in them. When such ignorance is being portrayed unabashedly by adults, why are kids, who are not even aware of why they are at the protest site, being made cannon fodder? It is for a few simple reasons.
Firstly, the adults are inhuman enough to use these kids as shields in the event of police action. Then, they will all collectively cry victim. Secondly, it is a bid to spread their already massive misinformation campaign among the passive audiences in India (read: millennials) who have no clue about the legislation, yet are opposing it like a herd of sheep. The parents will simply wash off their hands from any responsibility in the event of their kids getting hurt during the protests.
It is in times like these that humanity is put to shame by people who use kids as tools for their political gimmickry.
