As per recent reports, Hindu Samaj Party president and former Hindu Mahasabha leader Kamlesh Tiwari, has been brutally killed by unidentified assailants at his Lucknow residence. According to a TOI report, the 45-year old was murdered inside his house in the Khurshidbagh area of Naka Hindola of the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. The incident took place when the police constables deployed for his security were not on duty, while another constable was asleep. According to the police, two persons barged into Tiwari’s residence and first slit his throat, and then stabbed him several times in his chest before escaping from the spot of crime.
As of now the police has not ascertained the motive behind the Hindu Samaj Party chief’s murder. One Saurashtra Jeet Singh is the sole witness to this incident as per the TOI report. He said that he clearly saw two men attacking the former Hindu Mahasabha leader, Tiwari. He immediately informed the police about the incident and also called an ambulance. Vikas Tripathi, Additional Superintendent of Police (west) said that the police were scanning some numbers which the 45-year old leader is said to have called.
What is important to mention here is that a latest Times Now report has revealed that the Hindu Samaj Party president, Kamlesh Tiwari had complained of receiving life threats from the ISIS in the month of May last year. According to a chargesheet filed by the Anti-Terror Sqaud (ATS) in an Ankleshwar court, one of the ISIS operatives arrested from the state of Gujarat had shown a video featuring the Hindu Samaj Party chief to witnesses and said, “Kamlesh Tiwari ko maar dalna hai (Kamlesh Tiwari is to be murdered).” It is merely within almost a year and a half that the former Hindu Mahasabha leader has been murdered in a brutal manner.
This incident warrants thorough investigation and the perpetrators must be brought to justice. The fact that Tiwari had disclosed life threats extended to him by the ISIS opens a crucial terror link into this case. As of now, the identity of the assailants has not been established, however the fact of the ISIS having given him life threats cannot be ignored. The police will most probably go into this angle during its probe which could potentially lead to the motive behind this brutal assassination.
