Twitter India suspends @IamTrueIndology, a Twitter handle to bring back @TrueIndology

Of late, Twitter has come under fire over to the issue of trying to curb the right wing and centre right handles displaying its political bias and prejudice. After blocking the handle of True Indology, Twitter has once again blocked a Twitter handle, @IamTrueIndology, a handle meant for a campaign to bring back @TrueIndology. A Twitter handle, which seeks to bring back True Indology on Twitter stated, “First @TwitterIndia suspends @TrueIndology (1.6 L followers,~ 20 Mn impressions) unfairly citing 3 violations, which is absolutely FALSE. Then suspends  @IamTrueIndology meant for #bringbackTrueIndology campaign. Is this how you empower 1300 Mn Indians  @manishm345 @BalajiKrish?” It added, “Shri @Ra_THORe, @TwitterIndia’s acting as a Media entity, censoring the freedom of expression of accounts that’re seen to believe in & value the civilisational ethos of India. We did not bother you til now due to elections.But now this has gone too far. Seeking your intervention.”

True Indology, which was suspended by Twitter India last week, has been the primary and most popular account for all Indian historical exposes. Twitterati often use the account for fact checks on various issues pertaining to Indian history. The account, with the help of verified documents and excerpts from books and official accounts, accurately proves the discrepancies to spread genuine knowledge among the people. In the past, it has debunked many lies and false narrative spread by the liberal cabal in the country. In this regard, a number of such people who want to distort history for their own political and personal gains, suffer quite a lot. This time around True Indology had busted a lie spread by The Wire Senior Editor, Arfa Khanum Sherwani. Following that, a day after a clearly leftist suspended IAS officer threatened the account, Twitter India suspended True Indology.

The account suspension, however, was arbitrary. True Indology did not spread any false narrative or anything in furtherance of organised propaganda. They merely sought to correct the misconceptions held by the people and busting the lies spread by left-liberal brigade, by justifying their views with the help of verified documents and excerpts from historical accounts.

However, this is not for the first time that True Indology has been targeted wrongly. The handle has been suspended a number of times when it exposed the real narrative, contrary to what was being peddled by the liberals.

This act of suspending True Indology becomes all the more serious because of late, Twitter India has also come under fire for targeting right-wing handles and suppressing their voice.
