Prime Minister Modi is evidently the most denigrated politician in Indian history. From calling animal names to using blatant casteist slurs, PM Narendra Modi has faced it all. Gandi Naali Ka Keeda, Gangu Teli, Pagal Kutta, Bhasmasur, Duryodhan, Lathkhor, is just a small part of the abuses hurled at PM Modi. However, PM Modi showing his political mettle has been successfully countering these abuses however he has diligently maintained the decorum of the Prime Minister post. In another similar incident, PM Modi has directly challenged Rahul Gandhi to not be soft on his (PM Modi’s) family if they had done ‘wrong’.

Prime Minister Modi in an interview when asked about Rahul Gandhi’s comment that he will always meet PM Modi with love even if PM Modi criticizes his parents; Narendra Modi has put out this challenge.

Directly addressing Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi said there is no need for Rahul Gandhi to have any mercy on his parents and also urged him to bring out any wrongdoings by his parents. He also added that any Indian has the right to criticize anyone who is or was a public office holder. He even added that the nation has the right to criticize him even 100 years after he is gone.

Congress has been leading the herd in hurling abuses at Prime Minister Modi but was fast to cry foul when Modi ji had criticized ex-PM Rajiv Gandhi for the rampant corruption under her leadership. Be if Bofors scandal or usage of Indian naval vessels as private tour ships, Rajiv Gandhi’s tenure was marred with several serious charges of corruption and misconduct.

The worst of the bunch was by Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar who had made blatant casteist comments when in an interview he had referred PM Modi as ‘Neech Aadmi’ with a direct reference to his caste roots which saw widespread criticism not only from outside but from within the Congress. Speaking to ANI, former Union Minister had said, “Ye aadmi bahut neech kisam ka aadmi hai, is mein koi sabhyata nahi hai, aur aise mauke par is kisam ki gandi rajniti karne ki kya avashyakta hai? (This man is a low-life person, he isn’t cultured… at this moment why does he need to practice such dirty politics?).” After this condemnable slur, Rahul Gandhi had to intervene to save the Congress’ face from another big embarrassment and Mani Shankar Aiyar had to apologize and was in an optical move was ousted from the Congress, however later his suspension was revoked. However, Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar had again, in an article justified his “neech aadmi” comment against PM Modi by saying that his remark was prophetic.

This challenge posed by Prime Minister Modi is sure a befitting reply to the Congress who has been leaving no stone unturned in hurling abuses at PM Modi, however, starts crying foul over Modi ji’s retaliation. This hypocritical hate campaign against PM Modi also got support from the media machinery, which has been operating under the garb of ‘neutrality’, however, is just acting on the whims their political overlords.
