In a new low for Indian politics, suspended BSF constable Tej Bahadur Yadav, allegedly threatened to kill PM Narendra Modi in a video that recently went viral on social media. In the said video, he promised to kill PM Modi if he someone gives him a sum of Rs 50 crore for the job.
As per this recent video that went viral on social media, Tej Bahadur Yadav, while having rounds of drinks with some personnel from the Delhi Police, allegedly said that if provided with money, he would kill PM Modi. Stunned by his arguments, one of the fellow drinkers asked the amount, to which he said that he needed Rs. 50 crores to kill him.
For those unaware, Tej Bahadur Yadav is a suspended BSF constable, who shot into limelight in early 2017, for posting a video on social media about the lack of quality in the food served to BSF personnel. Left liberals created a huge thing out of this, trying to exploit this opportunity in order to defame the current government, as well as the armed forces.
Following the brickbats received at the hands of the Indian intelligentsia, BSF took disciplinary action against Tej Bahadur and expelled him. This was the fifth occasion that he was suspended from service, having been suspended on other grounds times times before. In order to cash in on his so called popularity, the Samajwadi Party tried to field him as a Lok Sabha candidate from Varanasi against PM Modi. It is another matter that the Election Commission cut their journey short by rejecting his nomination.
While the authenticity of the video is yet to be verified and is currently under investigation, Tej Bahadur’s comments somewhat confirm the allegations as posed by the video. To quote him, “It is a two-and-a-half-year-old video shot somewhere in Delhi. I was sitting with some Delhi police personnel. Sometime in 2017, I was having drinks with one Manoj Sharma of the Delhi Police and other few people whose names he could not remember. These people recorded it secretly and tried to blackmail me.”
On hearing about this viral video, BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao mentioned to the press, “He was drafted by the SP from Varanasi and his candidature has been nullified for various reasons. We can see on TV how he is telling a group of people that he is willing to hatch a plot to assassinate PM Modi for Rs 50 crore. Parties like Congress rallied behind such anti-social forces rather than the government is a matter of concern. The fact that he was sought to be drafted as a candidate by SP, it really stuns us. We condemn it; we expect all agencies to take note of this threat.”
If this video turns out to be fully true, it only exposes the truth of a constable that Tej Bahadur Yadav has been. In the pursuit for a few seconds of fame, apart from the blind hatred for the PM, the Samajwadi Party has stooped so low that they’re ready to even people like Tej Bahadur Yadav, who shamelessly issue open threats against the PM of India, just in order to get a chunk of votes. If this is not the deterioration of Indian politics, what is?
