Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in a shocking statement said that India is planning another attack on Pakistan and claimed that his country has “reliable intelligence” about it. The minister, while addressing media said, “We have reliable intelligence that another act of aggression is highly likely between April 16 and 20 by India against Pakistan.” He then further revealed that the decision to inform the people of Pakistan and the international community about this probable attack was taken after consulting Pak PM Imran Khan. He stated, “It is our policy to keep the nation informed.”
Shah Mehmood Qureshi then went on to urge the international community and United Nations to intervene and play a role in ensuring the persistence of peace in South Asia, adding that the fear of war has not ended yet. He further added, “Modi has given free hand to the Indian Army.” He then revealed that Pakistan has informed all the permanent members of the UNSC (United Nations Security Council) about India’s plans. “The international community must take notice of India’s irresponsible acts of aggression”, he said and added that Pakistan is still going to offer India dialogue to bring about peace and stability in the region.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi also mentioned that Pakistan has taken prerequisite steps to lessen tension with India after Pulwama attack and pointed out the release of captured Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan and 360 fishermen as peace-building measures.
Indian Air Force jets had bombed Pak-based Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camps situated in Balakot, deep inside the country. After the Pulwama terror attack, India had carried out the precise airstrikes at the terror camps in a ‘pre-emptive’ move. While it became clear that the IAF had ruthlessly humiliated the JeM, Pakistan has been in total denial of having suffered any damage. A day after the airstrikes, Indian Air Force jets pushed back PAF jets that had violated the Indian airspace and shot down an F-16 jet during an aerial combat.
Pakistan may have a good enough reason to fear the wrath of Indian forces after India upped the ante by increasing the intensity of firing on the border. After Balakot strikes were carried out deep inside the country, the terrorist nation should be wary of any and every stance that India might take against them. The deployment of the Indian Navy and the mobilization of Indian Army might have struck the right chords in the power circles of Pakistan and it is now showing in their statements to the media.
