As soon as Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan declared that IAF pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman would be released from Pakistan’s custody as a ‘peace gesture’, the liberals in India declared him as the messenger of peace, the statesman, Mother Teresa in making, budding Gautam Buddha and what not. In their blind love for Imran Khan, liberals conveniently ignored the fact that it is not a gesture of peace. Pakistan was bound to release Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman under Geneva Convention.

The peaceniks also decided to ignore the huge dissonance between the words and deeds of Imran Khan. On one hand, Pakistani PM was busy in giving peace sermons while on the other hand, his army was busy in killing innocent Indian civilians along the LoC. Last night, in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, three persons of a family, a woman and her two children, were killed in heavy shelling by Pakistan along the LoC.

The callous Pakistani forces targeted civilian areas with heavy guns Howitzer 105 mm and mortar bombs. It violated ceasefire along LoC in Mendhar, Balakote & Krishna Ghati sectors.

Pakistan also violated ceasefire at Gawahalan, Chokas, Kiker and Kathi posts in Uri sector. One civilian, who got seriously injured, admitted in a hospital.

The district authorities have ordered schools within 5 kilometres along the LoC, in Poonch and Rajouri, to close down temporarily and have also asked villagers to stay indoors.

In Handwara in North Kashmir, during an anti-terror operation, one J&K Police officer & one CRPF jawan attained martyrdom; three jawans also suffered serious injuries.

According to media reports, in the last week, there have 60 ceasefire violations in the forward areas of Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu and Baramulla districts. In the year 2018, Pakistani forces had violated ceasefire  2,936 times- the highest number in the last 15 years.

All these are ‘peace gestures’ by Imran Khan. No matter, who is in power in Pakistan, its forces continues to violate the 2003 ceasefire agreement with India. Imran Khan is nothing but a military puppet and he is also no better than his predecessors. He will continue to sponsor terrorism in Kashmir.

Imran Khan’s so-called peace gesture was a result of international pressure and the Geneva Convention. It must be noted here that both India and Pakistan are signatories to the Geneva Convention and therefore, the neighbouring nation cannot afford to evade its responsibility under the international convention. Moreover, if in case the IAF officer had not been returned back to India, it would have been considered as an act of war. And in that case, India could have taken any possible military action. Another noteworthy fact is that Pakistan is the same country which is begging for money from various countries all over the globe and it cannot afford a war.

Pakistan is violating ceasefire every single day which cements the fact that it doesn’t want peace with India, and Imran Khan is no messenger of peace, he is demon and destroyer of peace like every other Pakistani who would continue to export terrorism to the world.
