Priyanka Gandhi meets Chandrashekhar ‘Ravan’ and he decides to contest elections against Modi

Azad, Priyanka

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has attempted to use her fabled political acumen in favour of her party; little did she realise that she’s unknowingly working in the BJP’s favour. The newly appointed secretary in charge of East UP met Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar ‘Ravan’ at a Meerut hospital on Wednesday, a day after he was taken into custody by the police for the violation of the model code of conduct. ‘Ravan’ was shifted to the hospital as he took ill. He was detained when his ‘padyatra’ was stopped by the government. Nevertheless, ‘Ravan’ has stated, “We are going to organise a big rally at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on March 15.”

Priyanka claimed to meet the Bhim Army Chief because she understands his struggle. She said to have appreciated his enthusiasm and the fact that he is ready to struggle and is raising his voice on important issues. Priyanks Gandhi, while taking a jibe at UP Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi said that this government has become so arrogant that it wants to crush a young man.  She stated, “It does not want to listen to the youth. It could not provide jobs, and when the youth decided to raise their voice, it decided to crush them”.

By singing praises for him, the privileged daughter was attempting to offer ‘Ravan’ Congress support, essentially wooing the Dalits in UP by pitting him against Mayawati’s BSP; the party did not include Congress in the mahagathbandhan in the state.

‘Ravan’ meanwhile, with restored confidence emerging from pseudo Congress sanction has announced that he will contest against PM Narendra Modi. Pitting for his main agenda, unsurprisingly being that of reservation, he stated, “Mulayam Singh Yadav is giving confusing statements in the parliament, also SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav should clear his stand on the issue of reservation in promotion.”

He wants the SP-BJP to field a strong candidate against PM Modi in Varansi and should they fail to do that, ‘Ravan’ is volunteering to contest from Varanasi himself. The goal is to ensure PM Modi doesn’t come back to power, by hook or crook.

‘Ravan’ was arrested after the riots, and the Yogi government released him months before the 2019 elections hoping to dent Mayawati’s votebank. Priyanka Gandhi seems to be aiding the Yogi government to accomplish this. Priyanka, by propping ‘Ravan’ up, aimed to finish off BSP candidates completely in the state, by ensuring all the votes of the Jatavs to go to the Bhim Army. With a proper machinery and campaign, Congress is likely to swing a considerable number of Jatav votes towards ‘Ravan’. What Priyanka Gandhi probably doesn’t realise is that all this move is going to do is, divide the votes of the Dalits between BSP-SP candidates and Bhim Army. BJP and CM Yogi had hoped precisely for this outcome while releasing Chandrashekhar and now Priyanka Gandhi has walked right into the trap and helped CM Yogi achieve the desired results.
