With less than a month remaining for the Lok Sabha polls, BJP chief Amit Shah is all set to contest from Gandhinagar, Gujarat. In a massive show of strength, various tall leaders of the NDA have come together in Gandhinagar for a BJP mega road show, after which Amit Shah is set to file his nomination. Amit Shah was accompanied by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Shiromani Akali Dal’s Prakash Singh Badal, Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray and Lok Janshakti Party’s Ram Vilas Paswan. Shah was also accompanied by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

“It is an honor that I will represent a constituency which has been represented by L K Advani and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This is the same constituency which I represented five times in the state assembly. I express my gratitude to the people,” he said.

Amit Shah is a Rajya Sabha Member and will be contesting his first Lok Sabha elections. The presence of various tall leaders of the NDA showing support for the alliance is a huge positive sign going into the general elections.

Amit Shah addressing the rally said, “I started my political journey as a booth worker at the Sanghvi High School here in Naranpura, Ahmedabad and from there I have become the president of the party. If you remove BJP out of my life, it will be empty. I have done and given everything to the party and the country.”

Reiterating the massive support for PM Narendra Modi he said: “When I ask who will lead the nation? Crowd chants Modi, Modi, everywhere. Modi has been the leader the country waited for over 70 years. The only person can provide security to the country is one man, Narendra Modi.”

The presence of the Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has given rest to all the speculations about the stability of the alliance, Uddhav Thackeray addressing the public had said that differences of opinions between the parties have been sorted out he also added “Our ideologies are same, Hindutva and nationalism. My father said Hindutva is our oxygen. How could you survive without oxygen?”

Taking the dig at the opposition, Uddhav Thackeray “The opposition has only joined hands, not ideologies. BJP and Shiv Sena were considered untouchables, but we moved ahead with saffron flags and look at where we are. We have never backstabbed and never will.”

With opposition parties teaming up, this display of strength is set to create ripples of unrest in the opposition camp. Arun Jaitley taking a dig at the Grand alliance had tweeted :

Gandhinagar has long been a strong hold of the BJP with LK Advani Ji winning by a margin of more than 4 Lakh votes. The last date for filing nominations is on the 4th of April. Voting for all the 26 seats of Gujarat will take place on April 23.
