Arvind Kejriwal’s desperation seems to have reached new peaks. Despite speculation that a Congress-AAP alliance is around the corner, the alliance has failed to materialize. It is very clear that after giving them two lifelines and being backstabbed on both occasions, many in the Congress Party are apprehensive to give the AAP a third lifeline. Without an alliance, the party is likely to be reduced to zero seats in the Lok Sabha. Therefore a desperate Arvind Kejriwal is employing cheap tactics to save himself and the party from complete annihilation.
Now, in what is a blatantly communal move, Arvind Kejriwal has tweeted a little drawing that he claims someone sent him. One can never be sure when Kejriwal claims someone has sent him something, because the last time a supposed parent sent him a text message praising him for forcing schools to reduce their fees, the cursor was clearly visible on the screen. However, irrespective of whether it was sent to him or not, he chose to share it on Twitter. It is a small drawing, where a figure with a broom in hand can be seen chasing another figure that resembles a Swastika. As we all know, the broom is the Aam Aadmi Party’s symbol, and the Swastika is a holy symbol in Hinduism. Below the drawing, the caption reads: “Hoping for a Delhi, that I actually wouldn’t mind living in.”

To begin with, it is strange that the sitting Chief Minister of Delhi is sharing social media content about people hoping to live in a Delhi that is far from Delhi’s ground realities today. The first and most obvious takeaway from the fact that Kejriwal has shared this himself, is that it is an admission of his spectacular failure when it comes to giving Delhiites the Delhi of their dreams. But that is just the tip of the iceberg. Whoever posted this clearly hopes for a Delhi where the Aam Aadmi Party (man with a broom) chases Hindutva (figure resembling a Swastika) out. This is the Delhi that the person who posted this is hoping for, and Kejriwal has shared this on Twitter.
So is Kejriwal hoping for a similar Delhi too? A Delhi where the Aam Aadmi Party chases Hinduism out? And isn’t a post such as this political suicidal? Apparently not. Sources have told us that the Aam Aadmi Party will draw a blank in Delhi if it contests the elections on its own because the substantial Muslim population of Delhi that stood with Arvind Kejriwal has returned to its traditional home- the Congress Party. Is Kejriwal attempting to woo them back by posting anti-Hindu content on Twitter? If that is the case, and if Kejriwal believes he can woo them back by posting anti-Hindu content, he must have a terribly low opinion of them!
Irrespective of why he is attempting to pull this stunt, to communalize the upcoming elections in such blatant disregard for the sensitivity of the majority community, is unbecoming of a chief minister. With every action of his, Kejriwal who was once considered a hope for millions of Indians, lets them down constantly. At this point, with political oblivion staring at him in the face, his true colours seem to emerge more than ever.
