In the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack, which killed 40 CRPF personnel, the Indian Air Force today launched a massive strike on terror camps located in Pakistan. The Indian Air Force reportedly dropped around 1000 kg bombs on the Jaish-e-Mohammed camps in the wee hours today. The air strike was carried out across the Line of Control in Balakot, Pakistan.

After the terror attack in Pulwama, PM Modi had vowed to take revenge on the terror nation and claimed that India would respond and give a befitting reply to Pakistan. PM Modi said, “I want to tell terror groups and their supporters that they have made a big mistake. I want to assure the nation that those behind this attack will pay a big price.”

According to CNN News 18, the decision to strike back in Pakistan was taken by PM Modi himself. The decision of the air strike by PM Modi was taken after the terror attack in Pulwama on February 14 this year, which killed 40 CRPF jawans. According to reports, the terror camp in Balakot in Pakistan houses one of the largest terror training camps of the Jaish-e-Mohammed. CNN News 18 further claims that the Jaish terror camp has been completely decimated and the casualty figure could rise up to 300.

PM Modi had vowed to take revenge on the dastardly terror attack in Pulwama and warned that the perpetrators of the attack would pay the price. Indian sources indicate that about 10 to 12 Mirage 2000 jets took off and delivered 1000kg of payloads at 3:30 AM. The scale and magnitude of damage caused can only be ascertained after the government of India puts out a detailed statement.

It may be noted that PM Modi had similarly promised the nation about revenge following the terror attack on Indian Army camp in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir. The terror attack was carried out by Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammed. “Terrorists should hear out clearly that India will never forget the Uri attack… I want to tell the leadership of Pakistan that the sacrifice of our 18 jawans will not go in vain,” PM Modi had said. Following that, elite Indian Para commandos moved across the Line of Control and destroyed the terror camps operated by Pakistan.

Earlier this year, Prime Minister Modi hit out at Congress saying that the UPA government did little after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.

“Terrorists attacked Mumbai, what happened after it? In our government, Uri happened, what happened after it? This is the change. The fire that was in the hearts of our jawans, it was in the heart of the PM too, Surgical Strike was the result,” PM Modi said while addressing India Youth Conclave programme. “The previous government slept through 26/11, but Uri did not let us sleep. Drop of every jawan’s blood is holy for us,” he added.

The decision-making ability of the current Modi government has been a major highlight in its policies over the course of its 5-year term. And this is exactly what can be ascertained from this air strike in the heart of Pakistan.
