The government led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda came to power again and the number of government vacancies grew to 44,302. The Khattar government broke all the records and the number of government vacancies in the last four and a half years was 54,197.

Haryana has grown exponentially under the leadership of Manohar Lal Khattar. The GSDP of the state has grown at the pace of 7 to 9 percent under Khattar except in one year when growth dropped to 5.7 percent. The best results were seen in manufacturing where growth was in double digits for the last three years. For FY 15 manufacturing growth in Haryana was at 10.3 percent and increased to 10.9 percent in FY 16. In the next FY growth was at 10.8 percent in the manufacturing sector.

The per capita income of the state grew at a pace of double digits under the Khattar government. The GSDP per capita of Haryana was 1, 99,612 rupees for FY 17 which is 11 percent higher than of FY 16 when the GSDP per capita was 1, 79,432 rupees. The state received investment of 80,000 crore rupees during the Khattar regime. The projects worth 14,314 Crore rupees has already been implemented with employment opportunities for 25,923 people. “We are committed to provide best system and friendly environment to investors. Today, Haryana has bagged third position as per Ease of Doing Business Ranking – 2017 conducted by Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP),” said Haryana Industries and Commerce minister, Vipul Goel.

The Haryana government has also planned the erection of a new city called New Gurgaon. This city will be larger than Chandigarh, which was the first planned city in independent India. New Gurgaon will be built on the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model and is expected to be spread across an area of 50,000 hectares.

According to a report by The Indian Express, New Gurgaon will be located south of New Delhi and will share boundaries with the Gurgaon-Manesar urban area to the North and the Aravalli hills to the North-East. The city will be built under the supervision of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC), a state government agency which prepares plans for the development of the state. The master plan for the city has been prepared by a consultant finalized by HSIIDC. The consultant will prepare the zoning regulations for the proposed city including various development control regulations, height restrictions, ground coverage, setback regulations and global land use based Floor-Area-Ratio. Along with zoning regulations, the consultant is also tasked with road network plan, metro rail plan, required rail and road linkages and public transportation for the proposed city. The planned city will be connected to the neighboring urban centers through national and state highways, the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway and other major districts roads.

The Khattar government’s work is laudable and this will help the BJP electorally in general elections and upcoming state assembly elections. The previous Congress government in Congress government in the state has been known for corruption and nepotism. The BJP government under the leadership of Khattar has given a transparent and corruption-free administration to the people of the state.
