Imran Khan’s ex wife Rehman Khan calls him a puppet of the Army

Imran Khan, Rehman Khan

In what yet again exposes the fact that Pakistan PM, Imran Khan is a spineless leader acting on the whims and fancies of the Pakistan Army, his ex wife Rehman Khan has said that he is a puppet in the hands of the armed forces. She has stated that he even waited for instructions from top level officials before making a statement post the Pulwama terror attack. Speaking about Imran Khan, she said, “Imran came to power by compromising on ideology and moderate policy. Do not imagine for a minute that it is his policy. He is instructed to do and instructed to say what the state wants. We have seen the rise of new extremist religious parties during the elections and we have seen a lot of violence, riots in Islamabad. Imran Khan used a blasphemy card.”

It must be noted that Rehman Khan’s comments came after the Pakistan PM gave empty threats of retaliation if India avenges the Pulwama terror attack carried out by Pakistan. While certain Pakistani celebrities were celebrating Imran Khan’s bizarre speech with much fanfare, Rehman Khan revealed the reality of the incumbent Pakistan PM and also said, “Imran Khan has been doing what he is taught to do. If he’s saying he will take action, then he has to display and demonstrate something. We were on the way to be blacklisted by the Financial Action Task Force [FATF], long before the Pulwama terror attack happened.”

It was never much of a secret that Imran Khan is a puppet of the Pakistan Army and that he has no independent will as such. Last year itself, it had been reported that Imran Khan was being backed by the Pakistani military establishment and in particular by the ISI. There were clear signs of Imran Khan being backed by the Pakistani military establishment in the 2018 polls in the terrorist country. PML-N (Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz) even went to the extent of rejecting the election results. The former PM Nawaz Sharif was always seen as someone who desired supremacy of the civil establishment. Given that governance in Pakistan has always been dominated by its military establishment, either directly or indirectly, his fallout with the military top brass was inevitable. Even the Pakistani judiciary was brought into action. Nawaz Sharif and his daughter, who is believed to be next in the line of succession as far as the PML-N is concerned. Moreover, a number of PML-N candidates were also intimidated and forced to leave their party. It was also reported that even the local media was manipulated. It was asked to either censor Nawaz Sharif or show him in a bad light and to show Imran Khan in a positive light.

It is clear that Imran Khan has not been elected by the people of Pakistan but selected by the Pakistani military establishment. Imran Khan’s status is no better than an insignificant spokesperson of the Pakistan Army. His true identity had never been a matter of much debate and now with his ex wife Rehman Khan’s comments, he stands totally exposed.
