The use of the Indian Air Force on Pakistani territory announces the advent of a new era in India-Pak relations

IAF, Strikes

(PC: India Today)

To avenge the dastardly Pulwama terror attack, according to several reports, IAF jets dropped payloads at Balakot in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan last night. 12 Mirage 2000 jets took part in the operation that dropped 1000 Kg bombs on terror camps across the LOC, completely destroying it, reported ANI. The IAF air strikes completely destroyed Balakot, Chakothi and Muzaffarabad’s terror launch pads across the LOC and JeM control rooms were also destroyed.

Visuals of the attack are out now. The MEA has issued a statement already but the Defence Ministry will issue its statement soon. Coming on the heels of threats from Pakistan about attacking India and starting a war with it, India has shown them who the boss is. India has shown them that every time they attack India, we can strike back irrespective of the nuclear threat. PM Modi has called the enemy’s bluff, it’s over for Pakistan.

When ground based surgical strikes in response to the Uri terror attack was carried out, Pakistan went into denial mode. This time Pakistan Maj General Asif Ghafoor admitted that India carried out air strikes against the neighboring country and also disclosed the location. It goes to prove that the magnitude of this attack is very high.

In 2016, in response to the Uri terror attack, India carried out ground based surgical strikes. However, the Indian response to Pulwama was different. The Indian Air Force carried out strikes deep into Pakistan. Balakot is 42 KM away from the PoK Muzzafarabad sector. So, basically IAF has gone inside 42 km deep and dropped bombs on Pakistani terror camps. It also means that it has attacked the Pakistani military directly. It is India’s deepest strike against Pakistan since 1971, and IAF jets returned without any casualties, that’s a very big thing. It’s a super successful mission.

With the use of IAF, the Modi government has sent a clear cut message to Pakistan that its adventurism would not go unanswered and India will employ all options on the table to answer in the language which it understands. Additionally, India also, with the use of IAF, dispelled the notion and false sense of security that terror protectors feel in Pakistan that any Indian response would be limited to within a limited range of the Line of Control. India has affirmed that it has the ability and the will to strike deep into Pakistan without any hesitation if so required.
