The NDA government recently presented the Interim Budget in the Parliament today. Presented by the Railways cum Interim Finance Minister Piyush Goyal, the Interim budget hit two birds with one stone. Not only did the budget provide the much needed benefits to the farmers, but also it brought wide smiles among middle class communities.
However, not everyone was impressed with the budget. No sooner had the budget session ended that the usual suspects from the left liberal intelligentsia began ranting. While a few intellectuals like Barkha Dutt and Sagarika Ghose chose to stay mum, others couldn’t help themselves but cry hoarse about the interim budget, which surprised them more than anybody else. Even the announcement of economic reservation for upper castes didn’t leave them as agitated as this interim budget has.
Leading the pack was our beloved Shekhar Gupta, who tried to attack PM Modi in a veiled manner, as is clearly evident in the article he wrote.
However, the people who were distressed the most were without doubt the classic sycophants of the ‘Grand Old Party’ i.e. Congress. Led by an extremely aghast Sanjay Jha, who almost flooded his timeline with incessant jibes against the Modi government, as shown below:-
The farmers have been humiliated by #PiyushGoyal ; literally condescending to pay such peanuts. The middle class has paid Rs 16 Lakh crore in excise duties on petrol/diesel over the last few years. What have they got? Nothing! #Budget2019
— Sanjay Jha (@JhaSanjay) February 1, 2019
Everyone missing the woods for the trees: the state of the economy. The budget is a synthetic ruse. The real challenges remain. Low private investment, job crisis, rural distress, slow exports, and declining core sector growth. #Budget2019

Slabs have not changed. If you hve ataxable income of more than 5 lakh, you have to pay the 5% in the 250,000 to 500,000 slab. Only if your income is less than 500K do you get the 12,500 rupee rebate. pic.twitter.com/J1wR95SF17

Effectively little gain for farmers and the middle-class when you read the finer blue-print. A huge con-job by #PiyushGoel. #Budget2019
— Sanjay Jha (@JhaSanjay) February 1, 2019
Not only did he declare the interim budget as a massive failure, but also he termed the budget as a ‘con job’ executed by the interim Finance Minister Piyush Goyal. Given the absolute loyalty that Mr. Jha has towards the Nehru Gandhi dynasty is hidden from none, it doesn’t come as a surprise if he rants in such a manner against the incumbent NDA government. If statistics could speak for themselves, Sanjay Jha is only second to the megalomaniac CM of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal, when it comes to flooding his Twitter timeline with absurd, nonsensical rants.
He was joined in this mourning by none other than Congress’ P Chidambaram, who posted his own rants on the budget as follows:-
As I had warned, Government misses Fiscal Deficit target for 2018-19.
— P. Chidambaram (@PChidambaram_IN) February 1, 2019
It was not a Vote on Account. It was an Account for Votes.
— P. Chidambaram (@PChidambaram_IN) February 1, 2019
Thank you Interim FM for copying the Congress' declaration that the poor have the first right to the resources of the country.
— P. Chidambaram (@PChidambaram_IN) February 1, 2019
Interestingly, he tried to steal credit for Piyush Goyal’s bold statement ‘The poor have the first right on resources.’ Going by his tweet on the same, it seems that Chidambaram is more triggered than the ex PM himself on the dig taken by Piyush Goyal on Manmohan’s controversial statement, when he once said that ‘Muslims have the first right on the resources’.
In such a rant fest sponsored by Congress, how could their famed spokespersons be left behind? Priyanka Chaturvedi and Divya Spandana aka Ramya were back to what they are best at, mocking the interim budget and posting the done to death ‘pakoda’ jibes as follows:-
Our reaction to Modiji’s Pakoda budget @SalmanSoz ;) pic.twitter.com/aFIhsmNOch

Neat. The ‘Formal’ Treasurer of BJP now informal(?) will be presenting the Interim Budget as Acting Finance Minister today. Morals& Ethics? Woh kya hai? https://t.co/NLsFWkvsfS

The party with a difference- lol 😂

Frankly speaking, the interim budget of 2019 has at least scored well on one account, in terms of giving living nightmares to the left liberals. The hysteria that they’ve exhibited while reacting to the budget reminds us of the same tactics that actually propelled PM Modi to power in 2014. Should PM Modi be reelected to power in 2019, a huge chunk of credit would definitely go to these left liberals, who in their bid to dethrone Modi, actually helped him ride back to power with their hysterics.
