Rajya Sabha MP and former SP leader Amar Singh has reportedly donated his ancestral property situated at Tarwa in Azamgarh district to the Rashtriya Seva Bharati, an educational and cultural organisation affiliated to the RSS. The value of the property is said to be Rs. 2.91 crores for which stamp papers worth Rs. 14.59 lakhs were required. The property comprises of houses and land in the Tarwa market and Sultanpur village.

Singh said, “I would like to thank Seva Bharati and RSS for accepting this small donation.” It has been reported that Seva Bharati will run a school and other social activities in the three-story building spread over two bighas in Tarwa market. It will be named after Amar Singh’s father, Harishchandra Singh.

Amar Singh also came down heavily on the SP leaders who are criticising him over this decision. He said, “The Samajwadis, who are criticising this decision, have perhaps forgotten the history of predecessors. Akhilesh (SP president and former chief minister) has neither read literature nor tries to know the history of his party.” Amar Singh further added that merely making Lohia Park is not enough to know about the great leader. The former SP leader also said, “It was Lohia, who organised Ramayan Mela which was regularly attended by personalities like the then speaker Prof Vasudev Singh, Mahadevi Verma and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.”

Amar Singh did not stop here. He further linked the legacy of Lohia to Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay. The Rajya Sabha MP added, “Lohia’s thought was in the root of Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay’s concept of economic decentralisation propounded in the five-day convention of RSS in 1962. It was also the thought of these two great men that there should be a confederation of India-Bangla-Pakistan and Akhand Bharat (undivided India).”

Therefore, Amar Singh did not only laud RSS for its contribution but he also came down heavily on the present Samajwadis who he alleged don’t know anything about the roots of their party and are therefore criticising his move to donate his property to an RSS-affiliated organisation. In what must have come as yet another shock for the left-liberal cabal, Singh also said that his victory wish is with Modiji.

This is not for the first time that someone connected to the SP has spoken in favour of PM Modi. Recently, former SP supremo, Mulayam Singh Yadav strongly endorsed a second term for Prime Minister Modi. In Lok Sabha, he said, “PM ko badhaai dena chahta hun ki PM ne sabko saath lekar chalne ki koshish ki hai. Main kehna chahta hun ki saare sadaysa phir se jeet kar aayen, aur aap (PM) dobara pradhan mantri banein (We want him to become Prime Minister once again. He has done good work and nobody can raise a finger against him).”

The 2019 Lok Sabha polls are around the corner and it seems that the opposition has not been able to create the kind of political atmosphere that it wanted to create. At the ground level, there is an active sentiment in the favour of the BJP and this sentiment will have a huge role to play in the upcoming polls.
