It has almost been a week since the cowardly attack on our CRPF personnel in Pulwama killed more than 40 CRPF personnel, but the anger against the perpetrators of these attacks hasn’t cooled down at all. The entire nation is seething in fury, demanding stern retribution against the Islamic terrorists behind these attacks, as well as a complete boycott of Pakistan on the international stage.

In this tense scenario, cricketer turned PM, Imran Khan Niazi, spoke about the Pulwama attacks, and as was expected, he denied the involvement of his nation outright in the same. Imran Khan accused the Indian authorities of diverting attention from the contention to Kashmir and warned of effective retaliation if the Indian armed forces even think of daring to attack the Pakistani forces. Following is a specimen of his rants, as reported by ANI on Twitter:-

Though atrocious, this is nothing surprising. Pakistan has had a notorious track record of shifting goalposts when cornered by India on the issue of cross border terrorism. Even after the notorious attacks executed on the Indian Army’s base camp in Uri in 2016, the then Pak PM, Nawaz Sharif behaved in exactly the same manner, accusing India of beating around the bush while trying to raise the issue of Kashmir in the UN, though without any success.

However, what caught the attention of the netizens was a tweet posted in favor of the speech made by Imran Khan. Actor Ali Zafar, well known to Indian audiences for his stints in movies like ‘Tere Bin Laden’, ’Chashme Baddoor’, ‘Mere Brother ki Dulhan’ etc.  posted an appreciative tweet as follows:-

This one tweet was enough to expose the hypocrisy of the Pakistani artistes, for which our beloved ‘Aman ki Asha’ brigade is ready to even have a showdown with the Indian government if need be. Such people would work here, earn quick bucks from here and then invest their money in their own government, which is undoubtedly directed towards fostering anti Indian activities, especially the cross border terrorism. This tweet by Ali Zafar is therefore a tight slap on those people in India, who have no qualms about putting the national security of the country in jeopardy for their warped ideology of ‘peace at all costs’.

Moreover, this is not the first time that such Pakistani artistes have shown their true colors. After the  Uri attacks, when the entire elite Bollywood was rallying behind the Pakistani artistes, not even one of them even posted two words in solidarity with the martyrs of that attack, forget condemning it. In fact, actors from the Pakistani film industry as well as that of television posted a video in support of the Kashmiri secessionists titled ‘I Stand with Kashmir’, as posted below. Are these the people the so called ‘Aman ki Asha’ brigade is fighting for?

To be honest, Ali Zafar is only being loyal to his community, and on the other hand we have people like Swara Bhasker, Shehla Rashid and Barkha Dutt, who despite being Indian, sing praises of the Pakistani intruders, and won’t even hesitate to back them, even if it jeopardizes our national integrity. No wonder why a wise man once said, ‘The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies.’
