With the political temperature soaring in world’s largest democracy, the opposition parties can be seen indulging in ugly bickering basically on the pillars of manufactured falsehood and tampered facts.
Indian National Congress (INC) is outrageously infamous on social media for peddling fake news on Twitter, Facebook, and Whatsapp. The party has deployed its members to take a dig on BJP’s topmost position holders and even the senior most leaders of the party are often seen pouring sarcastic remarks and denigrate the work of the ruling party.
An insurmountable number of fake news cases have seen the light of truth and exposed the abominable face of India’s oldest party. These cases have the involvement of top most senior leader of the party including Kapil Sibal and P Chidambaram. When caught they simply delete the tweet and run away but in the age of social media, nothing can go unnoticed and unheeded.
The ploy of Congress IT cell is to target and malign the images of BJP’s top brass. The names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Piyush Goyal, and Smriti Irani are there in their hit list because of the mass connect of these party leaders.
Lately, Karnataka Congress leader BK Hariprasad stirred up a controversy on Thursday when he mocked BJP chief Amit Shah’s illness. He said that it was a result of his “kidnapping” the party’s MLAs in a bid to form a government in the state. This was the new low but that’s not enough. They come hard at Smriti Irani as she seems to be invincible on twitter. Probably because she challenged Rahul Gandhi in his bastion Amethi and almost won the battle, but only for Mulayam Singh Yadav to come for Rahul’s rescue by transferring SP’s vote share in Rahul’s favour at the last moment. They often seem concocting lies about her.
Smriti Irani has never been in the good books of the Congress maybe because they are well aware of the possibilities of Smriti Irani’s victory over their Prince. The victory could bleak out the possibility of Rahul Gandhi’s political career and would halt his journey. That is why they cast aspersions on Smriti Irani every now and then. One such derogatory remark came from Kapil Sibal on twitter when he mocked Smriti Irani for his tenure as Human Resource Minister and her remarks on Kanahiya Kumar regarding JNU Controversy.
Kapil Sibal allegedly tweeted, ”File false cases, deny bail, lock them up and silence opposition voices. Long Live Democracy! Does the honourable lady know that when accusations are made, ’bail is the Rule and Jail is the exception’? He allegedly asked everyone to share this on WhatsApp. The tweet was allegedly copy-pasted by P. Chidambaram.
Kapil Sibal was brutally trolled by the twitterati for proliferating fake stories and maligning the image of Smriti Irani. In response to that, he immediately deleted the tweet. Smriti Irani always speaks her mind and this makes her an easy target. The Congress party claims women empowerment in its manifesto but fails to protect the integrity of a woman.
However, Smriti Irani came strong and fierce from the battle. “While on one side BJP is committed to make India a strong and resurgent nation, on the other side the Congress is standing with those who raise the slogans like ”Bharat Tere Tukde Honge” (India will disintegrate),” Irani said at a press conference. She also scathed Rahul Gandhi on his stand on JNU. To make India a strong and resurgent nation we need women like Smriti Irani, who is the current textile minister. She came from a humble background and has successfully carved a niche in the political world of today.
