Railway authorities unite a missing mother with her son

Railway, padma

The Railway Ministry under Piyush Goyal has been doing a tremendous job not only by uplifting the standards of the functioning of Railways but also by helping the commuters. Since Modi government came at the helm of affairs in 2014, it has been seen that a single tweet puts the officials in action and things are streamlined in such a way that assistance reaches the needy in no time.

In what can be called as yet another instance of the helpful gesture of the ministry, the Railway police have successfully found a missing mother. The news comes from Kerala where a resident of Thrissur, Padma, had gone missing. Padma’s son Anurag filed a missing report in Railway Police Station Thrissur. Padma, 74 went missing when she was travelling from Korba to Thrissur on train no: 22647. The lady hails from Manalur Village, Kanjali Thrissur, Kerala.

Anurag brought the whole incident into the notice of the Railway authorities and the Railway Ministry to which the concerned authorities responded immediately. Anurag received the news soon that his mother has been found and is safe.

Speaking to Rightlog, Anurag said, “My Mother is safe and we are grateful for the prompt action of the ministry.”

In many incidents prior to this as well, the Ministry has been on quite active whenever the commuters needed its support and help.

Recently, the Railway authorities came to the help of decorated war-hero, Abdul Hamid’s widow. The heart-warming gesture by the the authorities was widely appreciated.

Who would have thought some years ago that an average passenger travelling by train in India could have access to the Railway minister himself! If a passenger had certain grievances or wanted to draw the attention of the railway authorities to something important when there were only limited options to reach out to the higher authorities. However, this has changed since Piyush Goyal took charge. The average passengers now have direct access through social media to not only the higher-ups of the Railways but also to the Railway Minister himself.

The salient feature of this government is that the common man now has information of the workings of the government, as the present Union Cabinet has utilized the Social Media, to benefit the common citizen through information and assistance.

The connection which a common man now feels with those who have been put in the charge to govern is really commendable on the part of the government.
