According to media reports, Sagheer Saeed Khan, a Congress leader has emerged out to be the man of the hour after he sympathized with the terrorists. The leader of the Congress party from J&K announced a cash reward for terrorists in case his party comes to power in the state. While talking to a local media person in Jammu, the Congress leader accused the BJP-PDP government of committing “atrocities on innocent people” in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sagheer Khan made the statement, “We will give compensation of one crore rupees to the family members of those killed in the valley. We will also provide government jobs to their family members. Terror suspects will be released from jails”. Going a step further, the minority wing leader of the Congress lashed out against the BJP and said, “Those BJP leaders who are responsible for the killing spree in Kashmir, no matter how big and powerful they are, we will bring law to hang them. Army is being forced to follow the commands of BJP leaders”.
He didn’t stop there and raised the issue of ‘Hindu terror’, even painted the army in his communal colors. The Congress leader continued his vague talk saying, the Army personal who was allegedly involved in Bulandshahr violence was inspired by ‘RSS’ Hindu terrorism’.
On this, J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina condemned the Congress and called it a party of terrorists and traitors. “Congress is a party of Lashkar, Jaish and Hizbul Mujhaideen. Congress party has rubbed salt on the wounds of our martyrs and their families. The nation will never forgive the Congress,” said Raina. While talking to India Today the former deputy CM of J&K said, “Sagheer Saeed Khan has given an anti-national statement. The Congress stands exposed before the people. Its heart bleeds for terrorists and not security forces. I demand an apology from Congress President Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders of his party”.
It seems that behind this absurd statement there is nothing but the Grand Old Party’s tactic of appeasement that it has been carrying forward since the beginning. According to a survey, in the 10-year rule of the UPA, the number of terror attacks notched up to 18 while in the four-year of NDA, it is just one. There were many major deadly terror attacks during UPA which include, the bombing of multiple trains in Mumbai in July 2006, September 2008 Delhi bombings, 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, 2010 Pune German Bakery Bombing between 2004 to 2014. The national security of the country improved only with the advent of the NDA government in 2014.
According to a report published in Swarajya, the average number of civilians killed by terrorist per year during the UPA was 757 which stands at 241 during the NDA. Whether it is the case of Ishrat Jahan, Batla House encounter, Yakub Memon or Ajmal Kasab; Congress’ leaders have come out and supported them openly. Prominent INC leaders including Mani Shankar Aiyar and Salman Khurshid can be seen praising Pakistan, time and again.
