In a complete surprise to most people, the state polls held in Chattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh went in the favor of Congress. While they captured Chattisgarh by a thumping majority of 66 seats, they won 99 seats and 114 seats respectively in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, enough to make a smooth coalition with other parties.
As most of the BJP supporters are in a shock, with some calling for introspection, a tweet took the social media by surprise. Posted by user, who goes by the handle of @nithingsoma, this tweet showed the Maharashtra cadre of Congress celebrating their electoral victory in a disgusting manner :
Look at the level of arrogance of @ShindePraniti after winning 3 states.. Imagine what if they win #2019 @DrGPradhan @nanditathhakur @TajinderBagga @sambitswaraj @RenukaJain6 @republic @ZeeNewsHindi @Dev_Fadnavis @Shubhrastha @smitaprakash @BJP4India pic.twitter.com/pDl1LEXUAq

Alongside Congress workers waving flags of the party, two people wore the masks of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah respectively and were holding a kettle and teacups, in a mocking reference to PM Modi’s humble origins as a tea seller at the Vadnagar railway station.
To make matters worse, Praniti Shinde, one of the major Congress leaders in Maharashtra and daughter of controversial Congress leader and ex-Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. Going by her expressions in the photograph, it didn’t look as if she was ashamed at all at such a brazen insult.
For its entire hullabaloo, the Congress members couldn’t control themselves from resorting to mocking their opponents and hitting below the belt. Ironically, this is their attitude after winning just one state, for they couldn’t secure even a simple majority in the states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Moreover, this is not the only instance where they mocked BJP just after winning the elections.
Controversial MP and ex-Cabinet Minister in UPA government mocked BJP with the following post :
No wonder the BJP is so upset today. The voters just gave them a triple talaaq.

Even opportunists like Arvind Kejriwal and Tehseen Poonawalla milked on the moment, posting the following tweet :
मोदी राज की उलटी गिनती शुरू हो गयी।

Needless to say, Congress was trolled by the netizens left, right and center. While some reminded Shashi Tharoor of his own implications in the mysterious death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar, others bashed Congress for not being humble in its approach after their victory in the mentioned states. One of the most profound criticisms on this issue was posted by Textiles Minister and popular BJP politician Smriti Zubin Irani, who supported the user’s photograph tweet with the following :
Humble beginnings marked the journey of our PM. Today in an arrogant celebration, a mindset that abhors hardworking individuals comes to the fore. और अभी तो सिर्फ़ 24 घंटे हुए हैं। https://t.co/5e4tGHV3GR

To be honest, Congress has gone rather overboard in celebrating their victories in the state polls. It’s not even 24 hours since the declaration of the results and Congress has started behaving as if they have swept the entire nation.
Congress is repeating the same mistake they did after the elections held in Delhi NCR and Bihar respectively. Despite not having secured a majority in either, they behaved arrogantly with others, mocking BJP’s top brass, especially Modi and Shah, for their humble roots.
This was the same reason for which Congress and their ‘secular allies’ faced mammoth defeat in Assam, Tripura, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh elections, and if they don’t make up for their behavior, this victory might prove to be a false dawn for the Grand Old Party.
