Maharashtra based ‘Right to Pray’ activist Trupti Desai- who has pledged to enter inside the famous Sabarimala temple of Kerala on 17th November- faces huge protest outside the Kochi airport, and no cab or taxi seems ready to take her to the Sabarimala temple. Trupti Desai with five other activists is stranded at the Kochi airport. She is adamant at entering inside the temple despite the fact that she is not a true devotee of Bhagwan Ayyappa.

On Wednesday, in a letter she informed Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan about her plans to enter the Sabarimala temple and demanded tight security while she enters into the temple. She requested, “We request Government of Kerala to bear all the expenses of protection incurred by us related to arrangements made since we reach Kerala and subsequently to Maharashtra, the government of Kerala should also in furtherance bear expenses incurred by us towards car pick-up, accommodation/meal. If asked for, we will submit before the government bills/invoices related to expenses borne by us for car pick-up, lodging/guest house/meal.”

However, Kerala police denied any special provision for Trupti Desai. Kerala police said, “No special security will be provided, Desai is like any other pilgrim.”

Her acts do not have to do anything with the devotion. This is just a cheap publicity stunt on the part of Trupti Desai. She is just a rabble rouser. Real devotees are those women who are running #ReadyToWait campaign and protesting against the diktats imposed upon them, going against their tradition, belief and culture. One visits a temple when she/he has faith in a certain deity; follows rituals, customs, and maintains a sense of decorum and sanctity. However, self-styled feminists and activists want to enter inside the temple just to satisfy their ego and to establish a symbolic equality. In recent time, the so-called activists are campaigning for rights which have no takers.

Trupti Desai got limelight after she spearheaded Shani Shingnapur temple protest and now her text target is Sabarimala temple in order to gain the limelight again.

However, on Haji Ali her double standard was clearly evident. Trupti Desai entered Haji Ali up to the point women are allowed & religiously followed all the rules of Islamic Shrine and didn’t enter inner sanctum despite Supreme Court’s verdict.

On September 28, the Supreme Court in its verdict allowed entry of women of all ages inside the Sabarimala Temple. Immediately, after the verdict, protests are pervasive all over the state. The verdict has led to unprecedented Hindu unity in Kerala. Invading hordes tried to intrude inside the temple but Bhagwan Ayyappa devotees thwarted all their attempts successfully. Women devotees of Bhagwan Ayyappa fought bravely against some ‘activists’ masquerading as devotees who with absolute hatred for Hindu religion and in total ignorance of the tradition tried to enter into the temple. These ‘activists’ included atheists, a Christians, Muslim and Communists, who have no devotion towards Bhagwan Ayyappa and neither have any reverence for the thousand-year old tradition associated with the temple. Trupti Desai belongs to the same tribe only. More than worshiping, these women were interested in provoking Hindus and hurting their sentiments. No genuine female devotee of Bhagwan Ayyappa tried to enter inside the temple.

The Sabarimala pilgrimage season commences on Friday (16 November) in the evening. The doors of the temple will be opened for a period of two months (as per the lunar calendar) during the ‘Mandalam-Makaravilakku’ season. Millions of devotees come to worship Bhagwan Ayyappa at the temple during this period after a tough 41-day vow of abstinence.
