Ahead of Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, it seems that the Grand Old Party is obsessed with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The party released a controversial manifesto vowing to ban RSS Shakhas in government buildings.

The 112-page manifesto also asserted that the order, issued earlier, to allow government employees to attend RSS ‘shakhas’ will be declared null and void.

Now, in a viral video, state Congress president, as well as CM aspirant Kamalnath, can be seen doing blatant fear-mongering against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He can be seen saying that nowadays, there is only one slogan of RSS in Nagpur which goes like “Agar Hindu ko vote Dena hai to Hindu sher Modi ko vote do. Agar Musalmaan ko vote dena hai to Congress ko vote do.” Kamalnath further told the members of Muslim community and other people present in the room to stay alert. He also said “We will deal with them later on.”

The incumbent Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh took a jibe on the viral video of Congress leader. He said “The Congress is angry with everything nowadays. Now they are also angry with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Why brother?”

Earlier, a Congress MLA Sunderlal Tiwari had given a controversial statement against the RSS. He called the RSS a terrorist organization.

In August, senior Congress leader- Mallikarjun Kharge- had termed the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh as poison.

RSS has often been blamed by the Grand Old Party for indulging in anti-India activities. Congress leader Digvijay Singh and President Rahul Gandhi have been quite vocal against the RSS. Congress blames RSS for everything happening wrong under the sun. From blaming the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh for terror attacks carried out in India by Jihadi terrorist groups to the anti-Sterlite protests which recently happened in Tamil Nadu, Congress leaders have tried their best to defame the RSS and have spectacularly failed every single time. The fascination of Congress leaders with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has its roots in the past. From referring members of RSS as ‘RSS extremists’ to linking them with saffron terror has been their conduct in past. Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh in the past has crossed all the limits and blamed the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh for the ghastly 26/11 attacks and this speaks volumes about the contaminated mindset of the INC about the RSS.

It seems that the Grand Old Party repeatedly targets the RSS because it is the ideological mentor of its biggest opponent- BJP. The Congress deliberately targets the RSS because they feel that targeting the Sangh will shake the very foundation of Bharatiya Janata Party.

The INC believes that rising popularity and acceptance of RSS among the common public is a threat to its existence. Their rant shows the intolerant nature of the present leadership of the Grand Old Party and the level of insecurity they have about the rise of an alternative idea in the form of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in the nation.
