Seems that Congress and controversy have become synonymous to each other. In a shocking revelation coming from Telangana, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has accused the Congress party for bribing him with Rs 25 lakh to cancel his public rallies in Telangana’s Nirmal Town.

Owaisi while addressing a public gathering in the poll-bound state of Telangana claimed that a Congress leader from Telangana, Nirmal Maheshwar Reddy who is to contest from the Nirmal Town constituency offered him Rs 25 lakh via another leader, so that he can stop rallying in the state. Owaisi also claimed to have a recording of the same.

“Today when this rally was happening, Congress attempted to buy Asaduddin Owaisi. This Maheshwar (Maheshwar Reddy) calls and tells a minister to stop Owaisi and I will give 25 lakh rupees in the party fund. I have the recording. This Congressman will buy me in Rs 25 lakh?! They think we are for sale for Rs 25 lakh,” said AIMIM chief.

Earlier, Owaisi denied to support an anti-BJP alliance after Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu dared him to take sides as he said, “It is an anti-BJP platform to save democracy and save the constitution. AIMIM has to decide. There are only two political platforms as of today. One is BJP platform and one is anti-BJP platform. Political parties have to decide which side they are on. Those who are not joining this platform, automatically they are supporting BJP.”

Responding to this, Owaisi stirred the fire by saying that he won’t be taking either of the sides and would prefer to go alone. In addition to this, he said that the coalition between Congress and TDP is being forged to fight against him in Telangana.

In a statement, taking jibe at Chandrababu Naidu, Owaisi said, “Suddenly, Chandrababu Naidu has jumped into the playing field as Rahul Gandhi thought he can’t take on Asaduddin Owaisi alone, so he joined hands with Naidu. Politics is a strange thing. Dono me achanak nikah hogaya (Both has got together all of a sudden). They suddenly formed the alliance. Chandrababu Naidu is talking about saving the nation. We will free Telangana from both BJP and Congress.”

Well, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief seems to be on a roll these days, as he prepares to have a United Front against the Bhartiya Janta Party eyeing the 2019 General Elections. He has been meeting several prominent opposition leaders including DMK chief MK Stalin, Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy, former PM HD Deve Gowda, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, NCP president Sharad Pawar and Farooq Abdullah in recent days. Naidu also declared that the leaders of entire opposition will meet in the National Capital on November 22 and will show off their strength.

On being asked by the media about the face to spearhead the United Front, Naidu said, “I am bringing everybody to a single platform. From there, they we decide how to go further,” before adding that “I am not a face, I am only a facilitator.”

Rahul Gandhi has continuously been incompetent in creating an anti-BJP narrative to tackle the Bhartiya Janta Party and now Owaisi’s revelation of bribing him and his stance to not be the part of either of the forces will add to the worries of Congress President.
