Another day and yet another controversial statement by Kamalnath. Controversy and Congress seem to tread hand in hand together these days. Madhya Pradesh Congress President Kamalnath who is trying to make a comeback in politics seems to be on a spree as far as issuing controversies statements are concerned.
While campaigning for the first time in Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s constituency Budhni , Kamalnath alleged that some government employees in the state possess ‘secret affection’ for Bhartiya Janata Party. He warned ‘those employees’ to be ready to face the ‘consequences’ and his ‘wrath’ when his party forms the government in the state. Kamalnath who also happens to be the Member of Parliament from MP’s Chhindhwara is being seen as the front-runners to be his party’s chief ministerial candidate, alleged that some government executives were biased and working in favor of the BJP that has been ruling the state for 15 years.
Such government servants do not sport the badge of the party but “secretly keep it in their pockets,” Mr Nath said.
He breathed fire against police officials as he cautioned them saying, “they should respect the uniforms they wore.” He went on to say, “Yaad rakhna, 11 ke baad 12 bhee aata hai” (all officials should remember that there will be 12th after 11th).” Here he was referring to the vote-counting day that happens to fall on 11th of December when results for 230 assembly seats will be declared. Elections will be held on November 28th for the state legislative assembly, where Bhartiya Janata Party has ruled for the last 15 years.
Nath was addressing a public rally in support of Arun Yadav who is contesting from Budhni, the same constituency from where Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been elected four times and is looking forward for another emphatic victory. Yadav was former Madhya Pradesh Congress President.
Calling it a ‘big battle’ Kamalnath against BJP’s mighty force, Kamalnath said he is “hungry” to bring his party back in power in the state. Indian National Congress hasn’t been able to form government in Madhya Pradesh since 2003.
Earlier, in their manifesto Congress had mentioned that they will shut all the ‘RSS shakhas’ running in the state once they come to power in the state. After finding themselves in the centre of the raging controversy they had to come out with explanation.
Prior to this a video of Kamalnath went viral, where he can be seen addressing a meeting of minority Muslims saying, “They (RSS) will instigate you. We will deal with them later. But till the day of elections, you will have to tolerate them.” In the video, Nath says, “What are the RSS workers doing these days? I have information. RSS activists have been spread all over. Let me talk about Chhindwara because people come and tell me. Since Chhindwara is adjoined to Nagpur, it is very convenient for them. They come in the morning and back at night.”
Adding to this he said, “they just have two lines to speak. If you want to vote for Hindus, vote for Hindu Tiger Modi. And if you want to vote for Muslim, vote for Congress party. This is their strategy. You have to be extremely careful. They will try to instigate you. We will deal with them later. But till the day of elections, you have to endure them.”
Another video went viral of Kamalnath where he was seen saying, ‘anybody will work punk, crook, criminal, ones with cases running on them, I want a winning person.’ Referring to the video PM Modi targeted Kamalnath. Though the Congress party has filed a complaint regarding the distorted video with Election Commission of India. Whatever the truth is but Congress Party doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned in coming back to power in the state from where it has been absent from past 15 years. Nevertheless, all the controversy that Congress has been raising after the announcement of election dates will be rightfully answered on 11th December ’18.
