Rahul Gandhi’s lies and misinformation campaign has been exposed yet again. This time around he was caught red handed trying to spread disinformation about the Group Medical Insurance Scheme for the state of Jammu and Kashmir. In his trademark fashion, he shared a report by the leftist and Modi bashing portal Quint on his Twitter handle and alleged that around 4,00,000 government employees will be arm twisted into buying health insurance only from Anil Ambani’s Reliance Insurance.
The Quint report claimed that the scheme was mandatory for employees of PSUs, autonomous bodies and universities, but it will be optional for pensioners and other categories of employees and accredited journalists. The report also claimed that the scheme is being viewed with suspicion as a private insurance company was chosen as mandatory for certain government employees. Rahul Gandhi was not alone in peddling this fake narrative. But his sycophants and minions like Shakeel Ahmad also shamelessly lied that the Modi governenmt has made it compulsory for Jammu and Kashmir government employees to buy health insurance from Reliance.
Dr. Jitendra Singh tweeted that Rahul Gandhi’s lies and misinformation make no real impact. However, he still shared a link that gives the correct facts about the group medical insurance scheme for Jammu and Kashmir government employees. The state government has made it clear that the scheme is advantageous for the employees across-the-board. A state government spokesperson also dismissed all allegations of nepotism and favoritism and stated, “the entire bidding process has been done in a competitive, clean and transparent manner in line with all Financial Rules and Regulations as well as CVC guidelines.” Therefore, allegations of a Modi-Reliance nexus at play are a mere figment of imagination. He also made it clear that as against the figure of Rs. 1200 crore which was alleged to be paid as premium to the successful bidder, only 3.5 lakh regular employees of the government are expected to be covered by the scheme. Moreover, there is no arm twisting as alleged by Rahul Gandhi and the scheme will be optional for those who are already covered under a Health Insurance Scheme on their own. This has dispelled all the fabricated claims and false allegations which were made against this scheme.
Rahul Gandhi, thus, once again stands exposed spreading lies and fake allegations about the Modi government.
