India has been moving by leaps and bounds in the direction of using Artificial Intelligence based augmentation and Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The Indian companies have not only welcomed the latest developments and changes in order to enhance their performance but the Indian workers too have adjusted smoothly into the integration process. A study conducted by the joint coalition of Goldsmiths, University of London and software provider ‘Automation Anywhere’ has revealed that Indian enterprises are exceptionally happy with the use of AI-based augmentation and RPA. According to the results of the survey received from the Indian respondents more than 71 per cent of them are happy with the way their employees use AI and RPA to its fullest potential.
The study conducted by the Goldsmiths, University of London and Automation Anywhere included the survey of major enterprises from India, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Japan. With 71 per cent of Indian respondents replying positively to the queries in the study, India came out on top in the results beating the US, the UK and Japan. The team had also interviewed leading automation and subject matter experts as a part of their international study to determine the final results. Director of Innovation in the Institute of Management Studies (IMS) at Goldsmiths, University of London Dr Chris Brauer said, “While the hyped potential of AI generates endless headlines, technologies such as RPA are quietly being rolled out in many of the most productive companies around the world — humans and bots are already working alongside each other across the globe and in every sector.”
Today automation has got in almost every industry from automobiles to information technology and everything in between. Autonomous cars could soon see the light of the day and became everyday essentials in a matter of a decade. Major companies which are trying to tap into the AI boom and are looking for ways to change the world for the better include well known companies such as Google, Apple, Volkswagen etc. The Information technology sector was initially hit badly by the RPA processes which lead to a job cut across Indian IT companies such as Infosys, Cognizant and Accenture etc. The industry has however since recovered drastically and the companies have begin assimilating the technology with their workforce which has led to increased productivity and well being. Close to 70 percent of the respondents have said that AI based augmentation has improved the productivity of the team in general and has led to an ease in the way in which work is done in the companies in India and abroad. The future belongs to AI and the readiness of Indian companies to accept this technology has increased their chances of being profitable, beating the developed countries is a commendable feat which the Indian companies have achieved with ease.
