Krishna Chander Singh, a former diplomat recently came up with an interesting comment. He took to Twitter to criticise a Times Now report and asserted that post elections, if the Modi government is voted out, commissions of enquiry need to be set up by the new government to probe the “misuse” of media, social media and electronic media by owners and anchors. He said the enquiry should be conducted into how they “incite people and debase polity”. He ended his tweet with an appalling line. He said some need to be fined/jailed and their licenses need to be rescinded. One would expect some sanity from a former ambassador to Iran and UAE as far as Pakistan sponsoring unrest in India is concerned. But alas!
The report of Times Now which annoyed former diplomat KC Singh was very important. The Times Now report investigation showed that the top trends on social media that were the brainchild of anti-Modi cabal had enjoyed huge support from across the border. According to Times Now investigation, on the intervening night of March 29 and 30, Twitter trend #IndiaShutDown saw 9 lakh plus impressions out of which 86.24% were from Pakistan. Just 1.40% impressions were from India. Rest of the remaining impressions came from countries like UK (2.55 %), USA (2.53%), and Saudi Arabia (1.69%). Same story goes with the another trend #DalitLivesMatter, 50% impressions contributing to the trend were from the social media profiles based in Pakistan that too from 2 AM to midnight March 25. On several occasions, especially when related to Maoists, Pakistani twitter profiles participated enthusiastically supporting the Maoists and their sympathizers on twitter such as in the case of GN Saibaba. Link between ISI and Maoists are very old. Recently, West Bengal’s top cop said that there is evidence that link between Maoists and Pakistan’s ISI is growing.
How history judges we won’t live to see. But post-election if current dispensation departs, commissions of enquiry needed into misuse of media, social and electronic, by owners and anchors to incite people & debase polity. Some need to be fined/jailed & licenses rescinded. https://t.co/OzflpLE3II

Surprisingly enough, he holds a very good opinion about a propaganda portal masquerading as a news portal which fulfills all the qualities he mentioned in his tweet.
They will all try surely. But to make leaders do it public opinion has to be turned. You guys at wire are doing your best.

His suggestion also gives a glimpse of what would be the future of independent if Congress returns to power. Any voice against Pakistan will not be tolerated. Each and every patriotic voice exposing the nefarious agenda of Pakistan will be in extreme trouble. Congress’ love for Pakistan is no hidden secret, their leader travels to Pakistan and begs for their support to remove Modi government and bring the Congress back to power.
All the Independent media, vociferous social media handles would face the wrath of the party and its member meant for serving a family and not the country. Internet media will be closely monitored and the situation would be similar to what George Orwell describes in his celebrated work 1984. Big Brother would be watching you all the time.
It is quite appalling to see a diplomat getting offended by the journalists and a news channel that exposed Pakistan. It also exposes the mentality of our bureaucrats, how they react and retaliate against someone who is not a part of their tribe. Apart from academia ideological untouchability is rampant in bureaucracy as well.
The hypocrisy of Congress and leftist ecosystem is nonplussed. The True believers of its ecosystem accuse the incumbent government of being dictatorial, fascist, intolerant, and anti-Press freedom etc but they themselves believe in throwing independent voices behind the bars and supports authoritarian ways of dealing with the dissent.
