Janta ka reporter lies about Veer Savarkar

veer Savarkar, janta ka reporter

The modus operandi of the leftist liberal mainstream media, anti Hindtuva social media giants and leftist websites has been to ridicule the rightist media houses and social media outlets as fake and concocted. However, these leftist liberal outlets and news traders have themselves been frequently caught spreading fake and concocted content. Such instances are often buried under the carpet by the mainstream media. In yet another attempt, an anti-Hindutva website, Janta ka reporter, published a lie that Veer Savarkar offered Chandrashekhar Azad money in order to stop fighting the British. They have quoted Yashpal’s biography in the most reckless, cunning and misleading manner in order to give this false impression.

True Indology has demolished this fake and fabricated narrative in its twitter thread. It has clarified that Savarkar did offer money to Azad but it was not Veer Savarkar who offered money to the celebrated freedom fighter but his elder brother, Baburao Savarkar, also known as Babu. The entire information relating to this incident is available in the article “Yashpal-fighter for freedom” written by Corinne friend (1977). Janta ka reporter took a screenshot of this article as a source but selectively cropped out a part of the article in order to make fake claims and defame Veer Savarkar.

Not only this, the fact remains that Yashpal never claimed that Baburao had offered money to Azad in order to give up his fight against the British. According to Yashpal, money was offered for getting Jinnah assassinated. The idea that Savarkar wanted Azad to stop fighting the British is a mere figment of imagination among the leftist-liberal media houses and self-acclaimed intellectuals. In its article, Janta ka reporter also claimed that in his work Yashpal stated that Azad called Savarkar a British agent. The fact remains that Yashpal never made any such claim. This again is an illusion blatantly created by the news traders and leftist-liberal sections of the civil society. At this point, we must remember that Yashpal was a staunch communist and therefore, it is convenient to quote him in order to defame Savarkar. The fact remains that he wrote his book long after both Azad and Baburao Savarkar had passed away. Therefore, he is not a primary source about Savarkar and most of his allegations are unverified and a result of ideological differences. There is no primary source to corroborate these allegations and therefore, the allegations are by their very nature unreliable in character.

Even if the allegations made by Yashpal are to be taken as true at their face value, Janta ka reporter cannot be absolved of deliberately misquoting Yashpal in order to create a false narrative against Savarkar in a clear attempt to take political advantage. They have used Yashpal’s works in order to defame Veer Savarkar even when Yashpal was not talking about him but his elder brother Baburao Savarkar. It has also claimed that Veer Savarkar wanted Azad to stop fighting the British when Yashpal made no such allegations in the first place.

This is not for the first time that false and frivolous allegations have been made against Veer Savarkar by certain sections of the media with a political objective in mind. It can be said that Veer Savarkar has been the biggest victim of the news traders’ reckless and irresponsible behaviour. It is shameful how a legendary leader has been labelled a British stooge by the news traders in order to please their masters. This latest dastardly act by Janta ka reporter to malign Veer Savarkar has squarely exposed its ulterior motives.
