The surgical strike videos are finally now in public domain after they were shown on national television yesterday. It should have never come out in public domain, but now that it has, some politicians from India and Pakistan are now going to face a hard time owing to their tall claims and stupid reactions following the surgical strikes. 29th September, 2016 is an iconic day in the history of India and how it dealt with threats posed by terrorists and their patrons. Surgical strikes, which were conducted by the Indian Army on Pakistani soil almost 2 years back, changed the way Pakistan and other potential enemies saw India. A country which had remained largely silent when innocent civilians were killed in Mumbai back in 2008 by Pakistani terrorists, who had entered Mumbai via sea, finally had enough. The trigger for the surgical strikes was provided by the cowardly Pakistan backed terrorists. On 18th September 2016, India witnessed the deadliest terror attack in two decades on its army troops in Kashmir. The Uri attack caught the army unaware, shook the nation and jolted the government out of its peace and talks phase. Indian Army backed by the central government under PM Modi did what it does best.

The first in the long list of ‘deniers’ would have to be the then Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who out rightly denied that the surgical strikes ever took place. He had also said that the surgical strikes were nothing more than firing done at the Line of Control by the Indian Army in which 2 Pakistan soldiers had lost their lives. The whole façade shown by the Pakistani PM was an act to save face in front of his voters and trying to downplay the impact of the surgical strikes. His mistakes are forgivable considering he had to save his plunging popularity in his own country.

Next in line is Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam who questioned the authenticity of the surgical attacks conducted by the army. Sanjay Nirupam was first from the Congress to raise doubt over the authenticity of the attacks. He even went on to say that the onus of proving that surgical strikes did happen was on the central government.

Shameful as it was, he was soon joined by Congress President Rahul Gandhi who termed the surgical attacks as “khoon ki dalaali”. Rahul Gandhi forgot that it was the revenge of the Indian Army that had unleashed hell on the Pakistani terrorists. The surgical attacks or something of this magnitude had to be done in retaliation to the 26/11 Mumbai attacks but for the cowardice shown by the Congress led UPA government in centre back in 2008.

Aam Aadmi Party founder and one of the biggest loudmouths in political scene after Lalu Yadav, Arvind Kejriwal was quick to follow. He again asked the BJP led central government to show him proofs for the strikes actually having taken place. Mr. Honesty Arvind kejriwal strongly believes that his approval is important for any activity to take place. Probably he was surprised as how he, the CM of Delhi, was not taken into confidence before the surgical strikes were conducted. His stupidity drew flak from common people as well as BJP leaders who attacked him on social media and other platforms. Now with the video out and his apology spree still running we believe he should seek an apology from the Indian Army too. Estranged AAP member and former Kejriwal confidant, Kumar Vishwas, made a veiled remark against Kejriwal after the release of the video.

The most surprising questions over the surgical strikes came from former Union Minister Arun Shourie. He recently had called the surgical strikes “farzical” or fake. His comment came while attending the book launch of “Kashmir: Glimpses of History” written by Congress leader Saifuddin Soz. People like Shourie will never understand that had the surgical strikes never been carried out we would have faced more aggression from our not so friendly neighbours. He clarified that he called the strike “farzical” as it had not done anything to improve the situation according to him but questioning a victory of the army is still a horrid act.

Former Finance Minister under Congress government P. Chidambaram and senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh too had been guilty of asking for proofs from the Indian government. These political leaders stooped down to the lowest possible levels at a time of national crisis. Digvijay Singh is known to be a loudmouth and crass speaker but Chidambaram too joined him thereby showing the nature of politics which Congress believes in. These senior leaders maligned the trust which the people had shown on the political parties and thereby proved why Congress is a threat to the nation.

The videos clips aired yesterday should shut these leaders up and if they have any dignity and self-respect left then an apology should be in line directed towards the Indian Army and then the central government. There are certain limits to indulging in politics and national security is one such topic where every political party should refrain from playing dirty.
