Congress’ campaign in Madhya Pradesh to begin with politicising the death anniversary of OBC leader.

Kamal nath Letter Rahul Gandhi

Divide and Rule of policy of the Congress party is exposed once again. The Congress party cannot see human beings without including castiest and religious angle. The Congress party chief in Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath, has written a shockingly castiest letter to the Congress president Rahul Gandhi. What is surprising is that this information was not sent out through a backdoor channel but was sent out in a letter with his official Member of Parliament letterhead and signed by him. The letter is dated May 31, 2018.

In the letter, Kamal Nath is asking Rahul Gandhi to attend the death anniversary function of a former Deputy Chief Minister of MP, Late Sri Subash Yadav, saying that this will increase the Congress’ clout among the community.

The letter reads:

Dear Rahul Ji,

Late Shri Subash Yadav was Deputy Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and a prominent OBC leader of the State. His death anniversary (Barsi) is being observed on 26th June 2018 at 12.00 noon at Kasravat in District Khargone, Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh has a huge OBC population and it is expected that a large number of people will attend this function. Being in campaign mode, this will be an important program in Nimad-Malwa region covering 61 Assembly segments.

I request you to consider attending this function which shall be called as Samvidhan Bachao – Desh Bachao. I consider your participation in this program important.

With regards,

Yours sincerely,

Kamal Nath

President – Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee

Firstly, it is sad that they are using caste of a former Deputy Chief Minister’s on his death anniversary for political gains. It shows how much Congress is desperate to come to power. When the Congress party was in power, they used to name all the leading institutions including Colleges, Schools, Hospital, Stadiums, even airports after the members Nehru-Gandhi family. Government schemes were also named after the members of same Nehru-Gandhi family. Powerful state/regional leaders were sidelined. Now when they are out of the power they are using the caste of a deceased leader to target the ruling party. They are converting a condolence meet into an election campaign rally. Even for a party that is known for crossing the boundaries of political decency quite frequently, this is a new low.

Secondly, how openly casteist the Congress Party has become is shocking. What can be expected more from a party whose leaders divided the country for power. Their leaders, now after 70 years of Independence, are very openly dividing society and seeking votes in the name of caste to come to power again. They love to divide people on the basis of caste, religion, language for their political gains.

How this was expressed in a letter instead of an indoor meeting also raises questions. Is there internal sabotage in the party, or is Rahul so inaccessible that even sensitive and ostensibly important things like this have to go through letter?

State assembly elections are scheduled to take place in Madhya Pradesh. Congress has already started its campaign with the tried and tested formula of divide and rule. The BJP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh is successfully ruling the state for the last 15 years. The State has registered considerable development in agriculture, infrastructure and other sectors. CM Shivraj Singh is well known for his development works. The Congress, lacking any vision and development agenda, is now solely dependent upon getting the caste arthemetic rights that’s why they are stooping to the extent of scavenging on the death and grief of its own leader.
