Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi gives fitting reply to Rahul Gandhi’s mockery of PM Modi’s fitness challenge

Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s iftar party on Wednesday turned out to be a grand failure with many opposition leaders skipping the event altogether. Some sent their representatives instead while they chose not to attend the event. Even Congress’s grand plan of grabbing the limelight ahead of the 2019 elections through minority appeasement measures could not bring them to Rahul Gandhi’s fold. Ex-President Pranab Mukherjee attended the event but left in a short while, choosing not to spend too much time at his former party’s event. Videos have surfaced which showed the level of talks which were held at the iftar party, and going by these it is easy to understand why Pranab Mukherjee might have left the event. A video shows Rahul Gandhi sitting at a table in the event; he is sitting along with some leaders and is discussing the fitness video launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter. Rahul Gandhi in the video showcases his special talent of making a joke of any given topic on earth, from his PM ambitions to the fitness video, nothing much has changed. He mocks the video as ‘Bizarre’ and goes on to laugh about comments being made by bystanders. Rahul Gandhi has received a befitting reply from BJP Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

PM Modi had earlier released a fitness video demonstrating his daily routine and the exercises he does to keep himself fit and active. The challenge to PM Modi had been given by Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, while the trend was started by Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Twitter with a bid to keep India fitter and in good shape. This much knowledge is too much for Rahul Gandhi to handle, and an information overdose made him take the well tread path of humour and crass jokes, something he specializes in. This is exactly what Rahul Gandhi did on the occasion of iftar held at Taj Hotel. He termed the video posted by PM Modi as ‘bizarre’ and ‘ridiculous’. He can be heard talking about the fitness video and saying, “Did you see the PM’s fitness video? It is ridiculous..It is bizarre…this is bankruptcy.” This is followed by laughs and giggles from those around him. He himself laughs and continues shaking his head as if unable to understand the concept of exercise.

BJP MP Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi gave an interview to Republic TV in which he gave a fiery reply to Rahul Gandhi’s statements about PM Modi’s fitness video.  Naqvi blasted Rahul Gandhi for the incident and said that after having cracked joke after joke, Rahul Gandhi has himself been reduced to a joke. He also went ahead and said that Rahul Gandhi has become the butt of biggest jokes in the country. He took it a bit further and said, “He has a habit of making fun of these things. He made fun of surgical strikes and terrorists being eliminated. He made fun of the economy and development. He made fun of the constitution and democracy. Making these jokes, he has become a joke himself.”

Naqvi made it clear that Rahul Gandhi and his party have been shaming India even after they have reaped the most benefits out of it. Naqvi also took a dig at the numerous trips Rahul Gandhi makes abroad, and blasted Rahul Gandhi for relying on western fitness methods and for not understanding traditional methods like Yoga. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has rebuked Rahul Gandhi and shown him the proper way to talk about the PM of the country. Rahul Gandhi deserves countless such lessons every few days, considering the number of misses he makes on a daily basis. It does not make any sense to mock the PM who is trying hard to urge Indians across the country to pick up healthy habits. But this is Rahul Gandhi afterall, and come to think of it, when has he ever made any sense.
