“My brave warrior brothers, our Motherland, this holy land of Mewar, is still under the clutches of the Mughals. Today, I take an oath in front of all of you that till Chittod is freed, I will not have food in gold and silver plates, will not sleep on a soft bed and will not stay in the palace; instead I will eat food on a leaf-platter, sleep on the floor and stay in a hut. I will also not shave till Chittod is freed. My brave warriors, I am sure that you will support me in every way sacrificing your mind, body and wealth till this oath is fulfilled. Jai Bhavaani” yelled the Maharana.“Jai Bhavaani” yelled the army. What he said he actually did. Today is the birth anniversary of gallantry warrior Maharana Pratap who defeated Akbar’s army in the Battle of Haldighati in 1576. UP CM Yogi Adityanath hailed Maharana Pratap on the occasion of Maharana’s birth anniversary.
CM Yogi Adityanath is known for speaking the truth boldly. He did it yet again, today at an RSS event commemorating King Maharana Pratap, CM Yogi said it was Maharana Pratap who was great and not Akbar. And this statement is absolutely right since Mughals were barbarian, invaders, who slaughtered millions of Hindus. Akbar himself massacred 30,000 Hindus during the siege of Chittorgarh Fort. Such a person doesn’t deserve to be called ‘great’. Not just Akbar, Hindus suffered persecution under all the Muslim and Mughal rulers. But no Hindu ruler ever did that with his Muslim subjects. But Islamist apologist masquerading as historians, whitewashed all the crimes of the Mughals and presented them as benevolent rulers in the history books.
CM Yogi praised Maharana Pratap for not surrendering to a foreign invader and fighting for the sovereignty of his kingdom. Amid the chants of Jai Shri Ram, CM Yogi said, “Akbar told Maharana Pratap to accept him as ‘badshah’ (king) and that he will not interfere in his kingdom Mewar. But Maharana Pratap said: I cannot accept Akbar as the king… he is a Turk and he will remain so… he will hurt our self-respect in the garb of friendship… we can’t accept a ‘vidharmi’ and a foreigner as our ruler.” He further added, “Maharana Pratap proved it was not Akbar who was great but only Maharana Pratap was great by ultimately winning back his forts.” CM Yogi also recognized the contribution of SC/STs community in the victory of Maharana Pratap. He said, “It was actually these tribes, which made Pratap great. On whose strength did Maharana Pratap fight… it was castes whom we today call Dalit, backward and Vanvasi.” All the communities displayed unity against a Muslim tyrant Akbar. Their effort paid off and Maharana defeated Akbar’s army to get back his Kingdom. Maharana never accepted the supremacy of Akbar.
CM Yogi is more informed about actual history than leftist fiction writers masquerading as historians. He knows the importance of history. He does not get indulged in a contagious disease called political correctness. He is well aware of the fact that those who do not know their own history are doomed to repeat the same mistakes done in the past. Lessons of the past are very important in the present as well. The importance of history is perfectly summed in the following quote from the movie Monument Men’s, “You can wipe out an entire generation, you can burn their homes to the ground and somehow they’ll still find their way back. But if you destroy their history, you destroy their achievements and it’s as if they never existed”.
