Any great business, organisation or country becomes great because of the attitude and prowess at the top. The leader decides the tone of the organisation in the long run. A drastic overhaul is possible in the weakest links if the leader has the capacity to motivate and modulate his followers. India is looking forward to an unprecedented growth phase, the likes of which India has never seen in the past few decades. While the rest of the world has been praising India for its growth, there has been a visible concern in India regarding the dearth of able leaders in the country. This concern has been shared by organisations throughout India who have been asking the government to help them in this regard. A possible solution to this problem has come from a Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) affiliateded institute- Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini (RMP). The RMP is named after former MP and RSS leader Late Rambhau Mhalgi. Based in Mumbai, the RMP organisation also owes a lot to the late Pramod Mahajan, former Union Minister and senior leader of the BJP. Mahajan had helped RMP grow from a small office to an international standard training centre. Mahajan’s contacts had also helped RMP in reaching out to various business, educational, media and bureaucrat offices. BJP Vice-President and  Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe is carrying the torch of the RMP forward today.

The goal of the RMP is to plug the shortage of able leaders in India. The goal is to make the leaders of tomorrow see the wider scheme of things, and to make them aware of the circumstances faced by the top leadership. The focus is not on theory only but also practical experience. This is the reason RMP students are taken to war rooms during election times, they are sent to meet bureaucrats and business leaders while they go about their daily duties. The Karnataka election campaigns are a goldmine for the candidates of RMP. The leaders of tomorrow are able to watch the leaders of today in action. From planning a rally to speeches at the rallies, the candidates get a chance to witness everything firsthand. Every conclave or seminar organised by RMP is a stupefying gathering of able men and women as the candidates from RMP themselves have to present solutions and back up their suggestions with viable strategies. From the emerging water crisis to renewable energy procurement, the leaders of tomorrow are presented with real-life problems and asked to come up with practical solutions for the same. To help them, they have a pool of bureaucrats, law makers, businessmen and political leaders. This is a unique opportunity which is open for any Indian who wishes to head an organisation someday. RSS backing of RMP proves that RSS too realizes the importance of dynamic experts who can lead from the front in future.

RMP’s hands on approach to New India’s problems are commendable. The far-sightedness of institutions like RMP and the backing given to them by RSS and BJP will help mould India in the best possible manner. The eight candidate batch currently in Karnataka will come back wiser after the election process is over. They will be a witness to many more such campaigns in the days to come. RSS and RMP will make sure that when India is ready to run at the fastest possible pace in the future, the leaders are deserving candidates and able to steer the citizens to the best possible finishes. This initiative of the RSS and RMP is commendable and should be welcomed as a fresh take on changing the political scene in India.
