Did Siddaramaiah have an ‘oops’ moment ?

Karnataka, Siddaramaiah

PC: India Today

“Everyone should understand that every single vote cast for Narendra Modi, is like casting for me….”, this statement was made by none other than Karnataka’s CM Siddaramaiah. This error in his statement has made him the new entrant in the list of BJP’s star campaigner in Karnataka’s state Assembly elections.

According to a PTI report, this error by Siddaramaiah happened not once but twice, while referring to the Congress MLA ,Narendra Swamy as Narendra Modi. He also added “If road work has happened, concrete roads, drainage, drinking water facilities are there, if houses have been constructed, it is all because of Narendra Modi and our government (sic)“.  The Chief Minister of Karnataka also said that all the development in the village is because of Narendra Modi. After realizing his mistake he then corrected himself  by saying  “sorry.. sorry.. it was Narendra Swami, not Narendra Modi. The important word here is Narendra. We have our Narendra in Karnataka, he is true. Narendra of Gujrat is a lie”. But then it was already too late, the damage was done. The crowd was completely amused by his statement. Even those who were standing next to the CM, were smiling too. It might be a slip of tongue but it doesn’t hide the fact that PM Modi is working for the welfare of the country and the Congress is unable to do any proper development. It’s not just an error but it is Siddaramaiah’s inner voice finally speaking the truth.

Siddaramaiah is completely rattled since PM Modi started campaigning for BJP for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Elections. PM Modi, Amit Shah and yogi have sent shock waves in the entire congress cabal. The huge turnouts in the rallies of these BJP star campaigners have given a tough competition to the Congress. Siddaramaiah’s nervousness and frustration was clearly evident in the welcome tweets for PM Modi.

Rahul Gandhi is equally frustrated and is worried about PM Modi’s presence in Karnataka elections. Earlier,he threw a 15-minutes debate challenge to PM Modi. PM Modi  accepted the challenge and asked Rahul Gandhi to speak for 15 minutes about the achievements of Siddaramaiah’s government in Karnataka without looking at a piece of paper in whatever language he is comfortable with either Hindi, English or even in his mother tongue. After this Rahul went on a silent mode and asked his troll army to attack PM Modi. Personal attacks and vague accusations against PM Modi has been a normal thing ever since he started addressing the rallies. Frustrated Siddaramaiah also challenged B.S. Yeddyurappa for an open debate, which Yeddyurappa accepted.

Yogi’s entry in the Karnataka elections has only multiplied Siddaramaiah’s frustration level by many times. In his very first rally, CM Yogi launched blistering attacks against the Congress Karnataka government.

Karnataka elections have entered the final leg and Siddaramaiah is trying his level best, but then he is just fighting a lost battle. Morally he has already lost and it is clearly evident in his speeches and tweets. He is finding it very difficult to fight 3 cornered attacks launched against him.
