Aadhar Advantages: Why Critics can’t get over their Hatred?

Aadhar

To understand why Aadhar is required, we need to wind our clocks back to the UPA era. India had no common identify proof. Congress launched the ambitious Aadhar Project but failed owing to its obvious lack of Implementations skills. Then Came the Modi Government that made Aadhar a reality. But I still fail to understand why are so many people in this country opposed to the fact that Aadhar will empower every single Indian by providing them with ONE UNIQUE IDENTITY with PAN INDIA approval? America does it? Malaysia does it? Singapore does it? What’s wrong if India has it too?

How many times have you fretted over the dreaded “List of Valid Documents”? Ration Card for Gas connection. Driving License for Ration Card. Passport for Driving License. Pan Card for Passport. There was no end to this madness. If Aadhar promises to provide a 1 document solution to the conundrum, by giving us a universal Photo ID proof, what’s wrong in it.

Facebook knows your mobile number. WhatsApp knows what you ordered on FoodPanda. Foodpanda knows your home address. PayTM knows your spending profile but if Aadhar has your biometric details, that too in the highest possible security standards, what’s wrong?

Back in the past, Middlemen used to drain the economy of its resources, now Direct Benefit Transfer reaches directly in accounts. Does that sound Evil to you?

Aadhar saved the government a whopping 57,000 crore rupees. That’s our money. Is there any problem in saving our money?

Aadhar failed to materialize in the UPA government. Modi Govt gave it more more teeth and enforced it. Is it why its critics hate it?

A Possible reason for the fierce opposition to Aadhar from a certain section of polity is owing to its successful implementation in govt programs. It has raised the bar of transparency, created credibility in governance and identified free hoarders to eliminate duplications and fakes who have eaten into the system.

Aadhar has exposed a lot of scams and provided the right data of those misgivings. Numbers unearthed from the data portray a frightening picture of corruption which now stands eliminated out of the system owing to it. In education alone, more than 1,30,000 fake teachers have been identified and about 4 lakh fake students have been uncovered. This will give a major boost to resurrecting the education system in the country whose foundations may have rested and weakened on these fake numbers.

Aadhar is here to stay. Love it or hate it. And if you actually hate it, you must have really strong reasons for it!
