[Satire] 2018 budget Leaked: Opposition and Media React

2018 budget

Disclaimer: It’s a Satire

Team tfipost.com got important leaks before the formal 2018 budget announcement. Arun Jaitley stunned his critics by presenting a neither too progressive nor too populist budget while most of the political pundits and economics nerds expected the budget to be populist and non-disruptive. Here are some top reactions:

Arun Jaitley: In the last three and half years, it has been our mission to bring a Transformative Shift in the way our country is governed. We have moved from a discretionary administration to a policy and system-based administration; from favouritism to transparency and objectivity in decision making; from blanket and loose entitlements to targeted delivery; and from informal economy to formal economy

PM Modi: I congratulate my colleague Shri Arun Jaitley ji for such a progressive budget

Amit Shah: A very Progressive budget

Mamata Banerjee: Misleading. Full of jugglery of numbers and hollow words which mean nothing. 2018 budget is the worst budget of all times. Shameful.

Piyush Goyal: A very Progressive budget

Rahul Gandhi: Government wanted to make an impact with the 2018 budget before General Elections. But there is no impact. They Should have announced something big for farmers. They failed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had spoken about bullet train. Has it come? Nothing in the budget for women. Nothing for farmers. Nothing for Youth. A failure on all counts.”

Smriti Irani: A very Progressive budget

Shashi Tharoor: The 2018 budget shoved down the fauces of the burghers of this nation is bereft of any substance for any section of the general populace, more like a body without anima, a bag of bones, an exanimate cadaver. We’ve hit a blind alley as a nation!

Sitaram Yechury: The the 2018 budget is completely “contractionary”, a “complete gimmick” and full of ‘jumlas’. This is a contractionary budget and not an expansionary one… It’s a complete gimmick.

Nitin Gadkari: A very Progressive budget

Mayawati: Jaitley’s speech was a repetition of old schemes which benefited only the rich. A Manuwadi budget at best

Akhilesh Yadav: I am not satisfied with the 2018 budget . It is directionless and lacks vision to transform the country. This government has neglected the farmers, youths and especially the women of the country. There is nothing in the budget for them

Arnab Goswami: A very Progressive budget

Uddhav Thackeray: Very bad budget, hence we are finally and formally severing all ties from the BJP

Shatrughan Sinha: Possibly the worst budget ever, although I am no authority on finance, economics or budgeting in general, but I am entitled to my opinions. It’s a cold budget, a sad budget, a terrible budget. More power to Kejriwal, Lalu my good friend, Yechury ji, Rahul ji the charismatic leader and all opposition leaders in general

Sudhir Chaudhary: A very Progressive budget

Yashwant Sinha: What has this country come to…a Vakeel is presenting budget. I am floating a new party in retaliation

Ravish Kumar: Bahut hi Ghatiya Budget…ameer aur ameer ho raha hai, gareeb aur gareeb ho raha hai…ye ek ajeeb sa bahra karne waala shor hai…ye Godi Media ka daur hai…ye ghatiya sarkaaro ka daur hai…ye andhera hi aaj kee pehchaan hai

Rajdeep Sardesai: The 2018 budget is a very bad budget…a failure on all counts (Smirks)…ha Ha ha I am not saying this, the people are saying this. I am just a journalist doing my job…ha ha ha, but people will say, they will complaint

Although this is a satire, the real reactions are expected to be same or similar. We’ll get to know that in a few hours from now!
