Who’s this lady with a thoughtful visage, and absolutely unwavering composure who gave a piece of her mind to Pakistan in the sternest way possible. Meet Eenam Gambhir – An alumnus of Hindu College, DU and a 2005-batch IFS officer.
She has served in many countries including Argentina, Brazil and Spain, and is said to be fluent in Spanish. She is first secretary with India’s permanent mission to the UN where she handles issues related to UNSC reforms and counter-terrorism.
Eenam Gambhir, replied to the Pakistani Prime Minister’s Speech for the second consecutive year. In response to the current Pakistani PM Shahid Khakan Abbasi’s speech, Eenam branded Pakistan as Terroristan. Earlier in 2016, in the UN General Assembly (UNGA), Eenam had called Pakistan a terrorist country in response to Nawaz Sharif’s speech. Both times Eenam responded to Pakistan under “Right to reply” in UNGA.
Eenam Gambhir’s Answer in UN: 2017
– Eenam said, “Pakistan is Terroristan, it runs the cottage industry of terrorism and exporting them to the world.” Pakistan should always keep in mind that Kashmir is an integral part of India. It’s shocking that the country that has protected terrorists like Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar is now calling itself Victim. “

Shahid Khakan Abbasi’s Allegations in UN: 2017
Pakistani PM Shahid Khakan Abbasi raised the issue of Kashmir in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday. Abbasi urged the UN to deploy a special envoy in Kashmir. At the same time, he alleged that India was crushing the struggle of the people of Kashmir.
Sushma Swaraj’s Role
In 2016 Sushma Swaraj launched a blistering attack on Pakistan after Eenam Gambhir fired the first shots at Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif had lionized slain Hizb Commander Burhan Wani at the UNGA which was met with blistering counter response from Eenam Gambhir. Sushma Swaraj lashed the Pakistanis after that. It is being believed that by calling Pakistan Terroristan at the UNGA, Eenam has once again set the stage for Sushma Swaraj to pin Pakistan to submission.
Some countries also grow and sell terrorism: Sushma had told in the UN in 2016, “If a country does not want to be involved in the fight against terrorism, then we should isolate it from rest of the world. There are such countries in the world for which terrorism has become a hobby, a way of life. Such countries should not have any place in the world community.
