What links ISIS and Indian Communists? Arun Jaitley Explains

Arun Jaitley Communism

Over the years, Communism and Leftist thought might have entrenched itself on the national mainstream, posing as ‘humanist’, ‘liberal’, ‘modern’, ‘western’, ‘enlightened’ and all sorts of similar fancy words. The truth is that Communists are biggest race of hypocrites the world has ever produced. There is a reason why Communists have been hounded in many countries, criticized in several others and violently overthrown in countries which they ruled. There are solid reasons why the Soviet Union collapsed, why its East European allies broke free, why China moved towards its own unique brand of Communism (which is Communist only in terms of political repression) and why Communism and Communist parties have been unequivocally rejected the world over. Communists essentially are wolves in sheep’s clothing. They may like to preach about tolerance, equality, internationalism and modernity, but the reality is that Communists are dogmatic, dictatorial and violently intolerant of all those who differ from them. Communism, as an ideology, is in itself so heavily flawed that it cannot be reformed. In the past, all those who have tried to rectify its inherent faults, have been labelled as schismatic and many more have been dispatched to their maker for having expressed dissent.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley recently gave his opinion about Communism and its brand practiced in India.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that an ideology like the one followed by dreaded terrorist organization Islamic State (ISIS) is getting integrated in the Far Left Political and nonpolitical outfits. However, Jaitley also said that the threat of Islamic State in India has not been as grave as in other countries. Arun Jaitley also mentioned that Wahhabi ideology is now infesting Kashmir in place of Sufism that used to be the way of life in the Kashmir valley.

The finance minister was addressing a National Seminar on Integral Humanism-Indian Way of Attaining Sustainable Development Program in New Delhi where he said that the demand for political autonomy is giving rise to an Islamic movement. You can see its signs all over India. Jaitley said, “I think India is fortunate in this matter that the elements of ISIS here are less as compared to other countries. However, in some places the Islamist’s ideology and far-left ideology seems to be getting together.

Jaitley said that the arrival of communist ideology was to raise the problems of the common man, which changed later. Also, the Traditional scheme of segregating Political ideologies into left and right political brands doesn’t make a lot of sense anymore and is on a decline. Jaitley said that the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the abandonment of the state-controlled economy by China has ended the electoral significance of parties that have traditionally been left of center . Jaitley claimed that communist ideology is getting evicted from West Bengal and Kerala and support for BJP is increasing.

Jaitley said that Congress was in the central role formerly, but it has left the role now. People of India have chosen BJP for this role. However, Jaitley said that such a role brings more responsibility for the ministers of the Center.
